will they withstand a wood target?

You can use a wood target just be aware that the blades will chip & fatigue over time. These are full tang blades meaning that they are made from a solid piece of metal. Depending on your power/accuracy tips may bend/warp but this is easily corrected with a pair of vice grips. These are good kunai for the money & excellent for practice. I use a pine target on a regular basis & while my blades have seen better days they are still fully functional & accurate. Just make sure the target is a flat surface & never use plywood.
