Primos Trigger Stick Gen 3 Tall Tripod

Great stability and very easy to use one handed

Arrived in good time. Works brilliantly and cheapest price. The box was in bits when it arrived. I think everyone at dpd must have had their hands in the package, but they did tape it back up. Kind of.

I've only used this tripod once but, so far, I am definitely impressed. It arrived in goodtime - the packing was very casual (but everything was okay) - and I unpacked the tripod. I have to say that I did not like the plastic packet sealed around the top which, as I struggled to open it, cracked into nasty sharp shards but - once the tripod was free - I squeezed the trigger and the legs dropped beautifully (and with a sort of well-made and positive 'thunk' sound). And then they were easily adjustable to suite uneven ground - so I went outside and did some shooting. As a shooting rest the tripod is very good but, due to the horrible weather at the moment, I haven't tried the low level settings yet. I also bought the camera mount (actually, I'm not sure if I bought it or if it came with the tripod) - but it is good (well, I think it is). It attaches via what they call the 'New Quick Detach Yoke System with Integrated Lock'. Strangely, the bolt that screws into the camera was too long for my camera but, beyond this, making the swap from rifle mount to camera mount was easy - and I liked it. It is a nice little addition to an already nice product. I like this tripod very much but on the negative side. 1) It isn't cheap. 2) I did not like the packaging. 3) It would be great if the tripod had a little storage thing for the camera mount. Maybe a little threaded hole somewhere - but ensuring the mount was always present. None of these detract from a 5 Star review. I will update this review if required.

Why did you choose this product over others?: I thought I would save a bit of money, so I purchased what was advertised as a Gen 3 gun rest at a knock-down price. When it arrived, it was Gen 2 and not a Gen 3 which should have made the alarm bells start to ring. It worked to a degree, and I persevered with it, but it's failings soon revealed themselves. After my gun very nearly collapsed on me one night in pitch darkness, I ordered the genuine article, a Gen 3 gun rest made by Primos, not a knock-off, and what a fantastic difference the extra quality has made. Everything is now solid and predictable. The legs are no longer prone to creep, and my accuracy has improved. I learned a valuable lesson, knock-offs are a false economy.

Great product

Use them all the time weather around the farm with pcp or springer with some night vision or thermal and with HMR around fields. Light weight and added the 2 point rest, the trigger works great and legs extend smoothly, what i like about these next gen is the limiter that stops the legs spreading to far making it easier to use in the dark.

Easy to use , shame feet are not removal .

As a disabled shooter this tipod is so easy to use to adjust height using the trigger. I use it with the 2 point rifle rest.

Ottimo prodotto, ho avuto un problema di rottura se vogliamo dire così...praticamente si era svitata la vite che fissa il manico al corpo che unisce le tre gambe e il manico si era staccato. Ho risolto smontando il coperchio del manico poi sotto ho trovato svitata la vite che ferma la leva di comando delle gambe. Quindi faccio ricombaciare il manico con la base sottostante dove ci solo le gambe estendibili e stringo la vite... Poi rimonto la copertura del manico e il primos e' tornato a funzionare perfettamente..
