Action starring Bruce Willis. Aging cop Jack Mosley (Willis) has seen better days, and all that the force expects out of him these days is to stay out of trouble while he's on the clock. Eddie Bunker (Mos Def) is set to testify before a grand jury at 10am, and it's up to Mosley to make sure that Bunker makes it to the courthouse in one piece, a job that Mosley estimates will take a maximum of 15 minutes. However, a black van has been trailing the pair and after stopping off at a nearby liquor store to pick up some breakfast, Mosley emerges from the store just in time to save Eddie from the lethal bullet of a determined assassin. When backup arrives in the form of Detective Frank Nugent (David Morse), Mosley quickly realises that the detective on Nugent's team is the same cop that Bunker is set to testify against. Now faced with the tough task of dodging bullets and eluding a massive onslaught of corrupt cops, Mosley must keep Bunker alive long enough to get him before the judge and ensure that justice is served.

Definately a good film.. Gets u hyped.. Makes u laugh.. Keeps u watching
ive seen this film so many times, i'm glad to have the DVD back! It's one you can watch time and time again even if you are a great lover of change.. No idea why someone gave the WHOLE story away in their reveiw but i will give you a taster..Action packed, not a comedy but yet there it cracks you up! πIt starts off slow but very soon on action commences & it is almost non-stop..It's a very upbeat film with a proper storyline as opposed to just firing and fighting even on his last legs..He was alert but not on point in terms of stratergy as he did not think for one moment that his phone may be being traced by someone he hoped would not track him down! HELLO πHe did however have endurance which is a valuable trait in deed..It does not portray Bruce as it does in some films to start with but irrespspective he handles the flames when the fire starts burning..The acting is on point in general all across the board.. There is not much of a mixture of nationalities.. The music fits in just right.. Scenary is standard & in almost one place..The main relationship betwee the 2 lead actors starts off in friction then as you think it's all over theres a slight shock then the relationship progresses and then in the end it's bit touching yet it does not focus on the relationship but you notice the progress so there's a bit of a gradual turn of events..It's a film worth watching for those who like a good storyline with a slightly unexpected twist and non-stop action that keeps them on the edge of the chair, a passion of enthusiasm for the charactors that are on a mission to accomplish a goal..You would NEVER guess the end πI would not reccommend it for those under 18 particularly and that's because of the "message" of violence.. (shooting that does not hit anyone for the most with little blood, no stabbings) There are no unclean scenes which is the subtle way of putting it.. No room for romance..Those who do not like this film either do not like one or both of the main actors or cannot stand action films.. If you like action with a storyline and a touch of sensible and realistic humor (not the sort that makes you want to look up in the air) just go for it!

A change of role for Bruce
Bruce Willis stars as a world weary and slightly down-at-heel cop in contrast to the all-action hero of The die hard and Red franchises. His performance shows that he is a much more versatile actor than his usual roles would suggest. Is he a good cop who has just suffered too many knocks, or is there more to his character than first appears? Watch it and see. An intricate plot renders plenty of action as the bad guys seek to terminate the life of a prisoner whom Willis is charged with delivering to court to give evidence. I loved the ending, but have yet to watch the alternative offered as an extra.

Excellent
I bought this DVD for a friend, so I haven't seen it myself. However, I asked him for his opinion of it and he said that it was a very good film. He also said that Bruce Willis and his co-star, Mos Def, were both very good and they had good chemistry together. My friend also said that the film had plenty of action and that it was very entertaining. He asked me to give the film four stars out of five, as it was an excellent action film and well worth seeing.Sorry that I am unable to review this film myself, but I thought that I would pass on my friend's opinions of it. He seemed to have enjoyed it, anyway. Maybe I will consider buying a copy of the DVD for myself now...

Simply Brilliant
One of those films that is completely unassuming but absolutely brilliant. I love these films where the premise sounds like a borefest and yet the execution of a very simple story knocks you back. It's flawless film making. Faultless acting. Paced perfectly. At the time of writing this is also a social commentary on the police force. the fact that there are hundreds of films showing corruption in the authority just proves a sad fact that we have all excepted since the dawn of film.Poignant

It ain't Miller time man....
Jack Mosley, a burnt-out detective, is assigned the unenviable task of transporting a fast- talking convict from jail to a courthouse 16 blocks away. However, along the way he learns that the man is supposed to testify against Mosley's colleagues, and the entire NYPD wants him dead.Mosley must choose between loyalty to his colleagues and protecting the witness, and never has such a short distance seemed so long...The thought of Richard Donner returning to the big screen to make an action film he could do in his sleep is appealing, but the fact that it stars Willis, makes this almost unmissable. It's a simple set up, Willis has to get Mos Def to the court before a certain time, with all the cops after Def, wanting to kill him.It should have been up there with Die Hard and Lethal weapon, but it turns out to be entertaining, but very slow in places.Willis is great as Jack, a man carrying the whole world on his shoulders, here's a man who ha s a chance of redemption, and that is in the form of Bunker, who has to be the most annoying character of 2006.When you start to sympathise with Morse's character, things are not looking good. There was on point where I felt empathy toward Bunker, when we first meet Morse's character in the bar, but soon after he became Ruby Rhod irritating. But it's a fun movie, the director is back on form after Timeline, and the bad guys are your typical ones from the eighties.Don't expect the earth, just be prepared for a good thriller, with a good performance from Willis, and you'll enjoy this.
