Essential Recollection

Fantastic collection of Jean Michel Jarre's best work spanning a forty year career. Three parts from the opus 'Oxygene' are here as well as tracks from his other albums. A pioneer of electronic music paving the way for New Romantic/rock bands like Depeche Mode as well as dance acts such as Orbital. Jarre and Kraftwerk inspired many great artists that have followed since and although there have been a handful of compilations of his best known work over the years this is the most definitive and concise with great mastering on all fronts. A great introduction to his music at a bargain price.

There is nothing new is this collection, but I didn't expect there to be.What I would have liked is a more even spread of tracks that cover his output, but once again we get a bias towards the early stuff (Oxygene, Equinoxe, Magnetic Fields), there is nothing from Revolutions or Waiting for Cousteau, Oxygene 7-13 is notable by it's absence, and what about Teo and Tea, Sessions 2000, Geometry of Love...it really is an odd thing to release...surely an Essential collection (recollection) should cover a wider range, and I am aware it's only a single CD so there is limited space, but with his recent remasters, and a new album on the way, this was an ideal opportunity to do something s bit special...still, I like the cover and it's another disc of fine music for the collection.

It’s ok nothing special

I found this album enjoyable, quite relaxing, as I enjoy electronically generated music almost as much as traditional classics.

It is great to listen in the car, takes up back to when it all started.

I HAVE BEEN A JARRE FAN FOR MANY YEARS AND THIS NEW COMPILATION IS ANOTHER GREAT EDITION FOR MY COLLECTION. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANY SOLID JARRE FAN AS THIS ONE HAS BEEN RE MASTERED SO THE SOUND QUALITY IS MORE THAN OK.

Can't actually see the point in this edition... I only bought it because I collect Jarre.This compilation misses off some later great compositions and once again has the more well known tracks as all prior rereleased Jarre "best of's".If I'd curated this album I'd have included something from Oxygene 7-13 and Geometry of Love, and also added a few lesser know tracks whilst keeping maybe just 1 or 2 popular tracks.Overall it's a waste of CD space that most of us have made better compilations on our MP3 players...

good album but a couple of tracks that should have been replaced with better tracks,there are so many good bits of music from JMJ can't understand how you put such average tracks on a best of album.

Genial recopilación que, a tan bajo precio, no vale la pena darse el trabajo de hacerse una recopilación casera con la discografía.Ideal para fans que quieran escuchar sus canciones más conocidas, como para quien quiera aficionarse a la obra de este gran músico.

JMJ have some collection of best composition but i think it's the best compilation for is solo composition during 1976 till 2000

Cd acquistato per un regalo: è conforme alla descrizione, sigillato, con qualità sonora non compromessa. Dialogando brevemente sul contenuto, mi sembra una ottima antologia che ripercorre tutta la carriera di Jarre! Io ne avevo un'altra ormai fuori commercio: entrambe presentano le composizioni più antiche e questa si sofferma anche sull'ultima produzione di Jarre. Le sonorità di Jarre secondo me sono magiche. Ottimo il servizio Amazon.
