Wheat straw flatware is the new hot thing for eco-conscious consumers. To be clear, wheat straw is still not recyclable in the traditional sense - they'll still end up in the landfill - BUT unlike regular plastic, they actually biodegrade naturally unlike plastic. They also reuse leftover byproducts of harvested grain, so you have both the "reuse" and "reduce" parts of sustainability and sometimes you just have to choose "not best but better", and these are definitely better over plastic.For these specific products, my family loves them! It's the usual kinda pasta plate design with raised sides, very easy to clean, my 6-year-old has dropped them and they don't break. I do however treat them like plastic in that I have not microwaved them, so I can't attest to how they hold up in the microwave. We also don't have a dishwasher so no idea how they do there either. I do know that being super lightweight and easy to clean, they're similar to paper plates to me but way better for the environment. Super happy with this purchase.

Funny thing I am using it for my pots base. They are perfect and colorful. I like the depth of those plates, they hold the extra water and save the mess. When I was putting it under the pot it scratched very easily so I would question the durability part but i really dont care as that was not why i purchased it in the first place. i will still recommend as they are very light and space saving.

Love the color and light weight of these plates. They are holding up very well with daily use and being run through the dishwasher with heat dry no issues. They do mark up when using even a bread knife is my only issue. Otherwise they are great and would buy them again!

It's just the 2 of us. Our normal plate are a 4 piece set. When the kids and grandkids are over (that's12 of us) we previously used paper plates. I've been working to get more environmentally friendly. These are a great alternative. Sturdier than paper plates. Reusable. Compostable!!!Being what they are, these will never see the dishwasher or microwave. No plastic should! As of this writing, all of these have been used 4 times now and they still look good. Of the 12, one has very light signs of knife scratches.

I like everything about these plates! They are a perfect size, durable and clean easily! Definitely would not hesitate to get these for someone as a gift or even another set for myself!

Friend has a set of these and I was so impressed with them that I got myself some. The slightly lipped shape of these plates help keep food from sliding off, especially helpful with Chinese food, spaghetti, etc. They're light weight enough to be easy to carry and they stack together very well so as to not take up much room. Knives will leave cut marks, however the scratches aren't that noticeable because the plate material itself is colored, not just the surface.

The media could not be loaded. It's a good deal for the amount of plates you get. They're light and sturdy. I weighed them, and they each weighed about 3 ounces. My only issue is that they're hard to clean if you have greasy food on them. I washed them by hand, but perhaps they'll clean better in the dishwasher.
