The Shape of Me and Other Stuff: Dr. Seuss's Surprising Word Book

Honestly, this is one of my favorite Dr Seuss books. I love the concept of teaching children to see the world creatively and appreciate the wonderful, unique things about themselves. It's a classic, and I'll keep coming back to it again and again.

Bought this book for myself and liked it so much I bought several more to give as gifts to family and friends.

Bought this board book for a child under 2 yrs. The size, weight and strength of the boards fit him perfectly, allowing him to drag around and play with the book independently. This particular Seuss book has very few words per page, but not in the same old "A is for apple" way, so it's a quick but interesting read for him, matching up well with his current attention span.

The book is philosophically interesting, and has an uplifting and positive conclusion. An instant classic.

In our house we are big fans of the "Dr. Seuss Bright & Early" board books. They are a wonderful size for small hands - my 15 month old can manipulate them well now, and has been able to easily hold and look at them since she was 9 months old. Like many books in the series, "The Shape of Me...." has a good amount of words per page for young attention spans. The book is completely full of silhouettes. Right now, my daughter (15 months) enjoys looking at all the outlines, and I like the message of the words, which focus on celebrating our own shapes. In the future, I think we'll have fun identifying the different objects by their silhouettes. A great book.

Compré este libro pensando en mi bebé, pero mi hijo de 3 años lo está disfrutando muchísimo. Es necesario tener cierto nivel de inglés para apreciar las rimas alocadas del Dr Seuss, pero si se quiere contar en español con un poquito de inglés para entender lo que dice es suficiente y es posible inventar una historia y trabajar el vocabulario.Es muy colorido, de páginas resistentes de cartón duro.Estoy muy contenta con mi compra y pensando en ampliar nuestra colección.

Another stellar book from Dr. Seuss. It's great to show the child silhouettes and shadows through this book, it is also a nice compact size and sturdy to boot. My 15 month old daughter loves it!

My son, who has now just turned one loves this book. I think that the contrast in the pictures, with them all being shadows is really appealing.
