Excellent Universal Camera Cage, Just Too Big for My Panasonic G100
I recently purchased this camera cage and was blown away by its quality and versatility. It’s truly an excellent universal camera cage, compatible with a wide range of cameras like the Sony Alpha 7C, Canon EOS R6, Nikon Z9, Fujifilm X-T4, and so many more. The build is top-notch—lightweight at 22.9oz yet sturdy enough to support devices up to 33lb, thanks to its CNC-machined aluminum body. The diverse mounting options (1/4" and 3/8" threads, cold shoes, ARRI holes) make it a dream for attaching accessories like a top handle, LED lights, or microphones. The design is thoughtful, with precise cutouts for easy access to buttons and ports, a slim Arca-type plate base for wire routing, and a magnetic flat screwdriver for quick adjustments. The dual ergonomic grips with silicone padding feel great in hand, and the tripod mounting is seamless. It’s perfect for vloggers, content creators, or anyone looking to build a professional rig. Sadly, it didn’t work out for my Panasonic G100. The cage blocked access to the battery and SD card, and it felt just too big for my setup. I really wanted to keep it because of the outstanding quality and features, but it wasn’t a practical fit for my camera. If you’ve got a compatible model (and no lens with a tripod collar mount ring), this is an amazing product—I highly recommend it!

It's pretty nice. You can get this instead of a clunky, costlier pieced-together option
First I want to point out it's designed to be used as an assembly and is really versatile that way. My Smallrig-encaged mirrorless Sony fits fully inside so I don't have to rebuild the entire set up to switch that camera to a lighter occasion. The size is not really a limitation (the grips and bars can be disassembled and used), and rigidity is hugely important. The "versatility" that I would gain from piecing this together as in other modular options would only pay off with needing constant tightening.. and a pile of extra, unnecessary parts as your assembly grows and matures as the early pieces don't support the features you need. At least this remains a handy tool and pair of handles at worst. It's versatile enough that you can mount rails on the bottom for a tripod setup and on the top to connect a shoulder mount. It's pretty easy to run it with the viewfinder right where you want for video. It's extremely sturdy for being so lightweight. If you have or plan to get a lot of accessories and don't already have a lot of kit, you may want a couple of small cheese plates for your magic arms and cold shoes - maybe a large one for the base if you're loading up matte boxes and follow focus for stability. I use a rail assembly at the tripod mount level and lock the Neewer in with the built-in ARCA-style slide-in dovetails on the base (more versatility for positioning with a long base). It really comes alive as an assembly with a top-handle - plan for that.

Perfect. Not sure I need a gimbal anymore.
It feels like I'm holding an Formula 1 Steering wheel, where price is no object. The rubberized grip has a great feel and no annoying seams. The aluminum is beautifully machined and finished. It is a very well thought out design, allowing for max adjustability. I drilled out 2 of the threaded holes to custom fit my gear. This design, so steady to hold, combined with in camera stabilization, I won't be reaching for my gimbal very often.

Great for a beginner
This product is at a good price. I do like the mounting on it. I used it for taking videos for weddings and it does the job. This is definitely a good beginner one. I can mount microphones on it and my phone no problem.

SOLID CAGE
I had trouble finding a cage for my Sony A9ii. Small Rig no longer makes a cage for it so I was forced to purchase this unit and hope for a “universal” fit. The unit is well made and feels very solid in the hands. The grips are tall and fit my large hands very well. Turns out, to get a universal fit, the cage is rather large - a bit too large for my liking. When my A9ii is mounted on the cage, the distance from the grip to my RECORD button is too great requiring me to release the handle to press the RECORD button (rather than simply extending my thumb over to the RECORD button while maintaining a grip with my four remaining fingers.). So, even though I’m happy with the design integrity, the fit for my set-up didn’t work out well.

THIS WILL NOT ACCOMMODATE A RAIL SYSTEM WELL .
I really liked how robust this unit was .. the handles are a little too fat .. but managable.. the only thing i did not like was that the bottom bar would not accept a rail system mount . it needs to have pre drilled and threaded holes to accept a rail system .. if this had that i could see neewer having alot more success with this camera cage system .. other than that its really strong for heavy loads with minimal flexing ..

Take some pictures!
This camera is an awesome product. It is rock solid and very versatile. I use it for my underwater cameras and lights, having taken it over 100’ deep with no problem whatsoever. It has many different mounting holes that can be used to easily configure your cameras to your individual needs. I would definitely recommend anything from Neewer and would purchase this again.

So many mounting options
Great mount. So many options for holding camera and accessories. Fits monopod to allow easy movement on the sideline

Fantastic for a DIY iPhone video rig!
Didn't know I needed this until I got it! I thought it would be overkill for just an iPhone video setup, but it's perfect for rigging up all your gear and keeping audio gear off the ground. Also the built-in Arca Swiss base makes it easy for taking my setup on the go. I love it.

Comprehensive Rig with Enhanced Handling
**Title: Comprehensive Rig with Enhanced Handling** I recently acquired the NEEWER CA016 Video Camera Cage Rig, and it has significantly elevated my video production game. The inclusion of an Arca base and 3/8 Inch ARRI positioning compatibility has streamlined my setup process. The double handles offer improved stability and control during shoots, making extended sessions more manageable. The build quality is commendable, providing sturdy support for my camera. The cage design ensures that essential ports and controls remain accessible, a crucial aspect for seamless operation. Its versatility shines, allowing for accessory attachment without hindering the overall functionality. Though assembly takes a bit of time, the rig's reliability and performance justify the effort. The flexibility it offers with different camera setups is impressive, and the Arca base adds a level of convenience that is truly appreciated. In the end, the NEEWER CA016 Video Camera Cage Rig has become an indispensable tool in my filmmaking toolkit, providing the stability and customization I need for capturing professional-quality content.
