Work as predicted
This works great and has good speed, the body is rather flimsy and looks like it will crack if enough pressure is applied. Why did I give this 5 starts then. EasyIts quite affordable, its very close to its advertised speeds and on a desk, there are no risk of it breaking..so great value if you ask me.. just dont try to use it as a rugged product and its all good

Cheap and functional
Purchased to put a few extra drives I had laying around into. Easy to install and worked with no issue.

Not for travel use
With a lot of plastic and a very simple plastic sliding end cap this is an easy to use housing for my SSD that I use mainly for direct recording from my ATEM Mini Pro. I would not want to take this on the road with me as that end cap could fall off easily and the whole thing would fall apart. But with it mainly sitting on my desk it works well and is not giving me any issues.

Best inexpensive aluminum enclosure I've found
Small, well-constructed, attractive, easy to install. Speed with an older SSD I have was ~500MB/s. Includes cables. I've purchased a few other aluminum enclosures for close to $30 and this beats them all. I liked it so much I bought 2 more. I see that aluminum is no longer an option- only the plastic versions. Do yourself a favor and skip the plastic, wait for the aluminum to be back in stock. (Side note- I did buy some very small silicone feet because I stack them and want them to stay in place and not scratch each other. Not necessary if you use it solo.) I may buy a few more to have on hand once they're back in stock. I've been in IT for 25+ yrs, and I highly recommend this aluminum case. Cheers

As advertised speeds are fast!!
I own 2 of these and they have been working for over two years! Speeds are solid maxed out 500MBps+ write and 500MBps+ read -FULL Sata3 bus speeds! *Make sure to use a certified or rated USB-c or thunderbolt cable! not the cheap one they send! These are the best out there . 5 Stars.

Connected to my Pi to use an SSD as the boot drive
I set up a Raspberry Pi as a media server, but I've heard the micro sd cards they use as boot drives are prone to failure, and I should use an SSD instead. I had a spare one but no enclusure for it. This one was cheap and works perfectly.I wish I could turn off or at least dim the LED, since it's a REALLY bright blue, but that's a preference not a problem.Great enclosure and one of the cheapest available on Prime.

I'm undecided
I don't know how to rate this. I ordered 2 of the clear plastic ones.A 9.5mm mechanical SATA drive will fit. Barely. It's a tight squeeze, and I sincerely doubt I'll ever get it back out unless I break the case to get to it. It's that tight.I can say I'm honestly impressed with the read speed. I transplanted a hard drive out of an old USB 2 drive housing. I moved many GB of data from it to other USB 3 drives, and the speed went up to 776Mbs. I'm thinking it may have been held back by the other drive's write speed. Based on experience with the "old" storage drives, I'm more than pleased with how fast things went.Until I know how reliable they are, I'm undecided. I say that because the last brand I bought, I wound up with 25% of the drive housings going bad within a month. If these start failing, or giving me issues, I'll update this and let you know. For the moment though, I'm happy with them.
