Awesome game
Best Rally game i have ever played absolutely brilliant . After being thoroughly disappointed by Sebastian Leob rally, I have been perked up with the console release of Dirt Rally. Well, what to say about this game.Is it perfect? No.Is it very good? Yes.Pros.Great graphics and great choice of cars. The stages themselves are very well represented (I especially like the German stages around the Baumholder military training area, complete with car wrecking 'Hinklestein' obstacles. Likewise, the rally of Wales is also well represented and sufficiently tricky enough to make you concentrate.Looks like there could be some good potential for DLC add ons.Great sounds and decent interior views.Cons.No tyre choice? Why can't I choose my own tyres? I want that!Damage can be a little inconsistent. I whacked a few large obstacles that would have totalled my car in real life, but I just bounced off.Also there is no option to select varying damage models. It would be nice to have a similar system to Project Cars where you can select the levels of damage.Annoying system where you get docked credits for restarting a stage if you crash. What is even more annoying is that once your credits are gone, you get to restart for free!So, its not perfect but its very good and a massive improvement on certain other games!

OK as a long time gamer on darn near every console I can say this is the best looking rally game so far on next generation by a reasonable way however this game has one huge flaw and that is the handling . Whilst hardcore rally fans will persevere and work settings that specifically work for them the average gamer will probably want to trade this in very quickly as thus has exceptionally erratic and touchy controls to the point of distraction . Whilst I recommend this game is also air caution and would say waiting for a lower price would be the sensible move for people wanting to try this game . This game was tested on the pc elitist for over a year before approaching console release and this is definitely to its detriment it has been to overly tuned for their tastes and the fact that console gaming is a whole different animal has been totally ignored. . This is A true shame as the formula of this game was exactly what I had been hoping for by getting rid of the awful gymkhana aspects and returning to being the leading rally game in the genre however without a universally accessible control system then the positives are always outweighed by the simple fact that it's a ball of frustration because of the handling. A true shame and something I can only hope is addressed in future updates .I should also say I am being overly generous giving three stars simply I think because of my nostalgia and love of the series . Whilst this game is a joy for the gaming purists after a true realistic rally experience in reality to the huge majority of gamers who would usually love this game the niche styling and ridiculous handling is nothing but a middle finger to the fans and I think could hit them extremely negatively in sales at the very least especially after the laughable debacle that was dirt showdown.
