SpringyardSteady Anti-Slip Ice Grips

Great way not to die in Icy weather
These things are amazing. Wore these during the March snow storms, where I live we got like 10cm of snow which then froze solid - people were literally ice skating through the streets. However unless you had ice gripper like these you didn't stand a chance walking in it. I put sock over by shoes the strapped these on over the top and found I could safely walk to work (I looked like a penguin cyberman and it took me about 95 minutes to do a 35 minute journey but I made it the whole way including down hills etc without a single slip) I was one of only 5 people who made it to work that night and 2 of them had slept onsite because of the weather.Definitely worth the money if like me you know you'll inevitably slip the second there's a hint of ice on the ground

Good but not the best for me
I bought these to go with my first pair which are a different type, but still Springyard. Although these do offere reasonable grip, the problem I had was that they don't stay on my boots anything like as well as the Ice Runner model that I originally tried. The first time I put them on it was deep snow with plenty of ice underfoot and I got to my car without noticing that the grip had come off, although I did think to myself "these aren't quite as sure feeling as the others". I only noticed that they had parted company with my boot when it came to walking across an icy car park. I had no idea where they had come off so had to retrace my slippery steps from the shop to the car and then check inside the car. When I got home there was the right one sitting at the exact spot that the driver's door had been when I left.Yes they work when they're on, but I now don't trust them to stay on. The Ice Runners are sturdier and give a bit more grip due to the pattern of the spikes. It's worth thinking about the spike pattern before you buy any type of grip. I broke my knee earlier this year by slipping on a wet grass embankment while walking normally (not tentatively like I now walk everywhere) so when I bought these I knew that I needed the best possible grip at the very back of the heal - the point that most of us strike the ground first. Many people walk very flat footed in snow and ice, so this may not be an issue for them. These lose a star for coming off the boot on the very first outing, but I wouldn't penalise them more than that as I'm not convinced it is a design flaw, as such. They are easier to put on than the Ice Runners, but also eaier to come off, apparently.Hope this helps.

My mums out and about now, brilliant ๐
Got these for my mum who is scared to walk outside in the ice. Well not no more ๐, she was off outside, these are brilliant, made such a difference to my mum, never slipped, fantastic value for money, would highly recommend. How such a small thing can make such a difference to someone. Thank you ๐

Look as expected, not had the chance to try out
Look like theyโll do the job I bought them for, unfortunately the weather improved so didnโt get to try them out! Stored away until I need to use them

Not a single slip on the ice.
I bought these for my wife and they fit easily on all of her trainers, boots and wellies (Size 6). She has a bad back so is very worried about slipping on the ice in bad weather. Well, it snowed very hard over the last few days and we live at the top of a very steep hill. My wife is over the moon with this product. Not one slip on either the snow or ice. We walked past people shuffling down the hill wearing wellies and holding onto the wall while slipping and we strolled past at full speed. So glad we purchased these. I beleive you can buy replacement studs also.

Nice product but very small.
The item itself is very good but the sizing is crazy. I bought the X-Large and it was tiny, it was nowhere close to fitting on my shoes.
