Edit/Update The company assigned a customer service rep and reached out to me proactively after seeing my initial review below, wanting to make it right. They offered to replace or refund the item in full; I had already purchased a second unit so they covered the cost of that and threw in another product of my choice for the trouble. The new unit is working well; the company clearly stands behind their products and is attentive. The other product they sent me was a box of their quick connect hose fittings - and those brass components look robust. The product itself works wonderfully. It is very easy to use and program. A little pricey for what it does, but the function itself has been reliable for me. I started with a single outlet model and liked it enough to upgrade to this dual outlet six months ago. I returned to this product page to confirm I had bought the “metal” version. To be clear the only “metal” part is the inlet collar - not the whole thread base, which is plastic - and the collar is super soft brass. I went to change this out for the first time, and my brass spigot snapped off inside the collar... I use plumber’s tape, etc. so that surprised me but it happens with brass. So I removed the collar connector part from the body and figured I could swap it out, or that there might be a way to order / replace that inlet part, as it is designed to separate from the body. Removed the whole inlet, but was then unable to put a replacement part on it (I tried substituting a stainless 304 quick connector but the plastic threads were so soft it wouldn’t seat). I went back to my single outlet model that has the same part / specs but was unable to remove the collar piece from that unit yet again due to the plastic base. If I forced it any harder it would strip just like the last one. All that to say - just a word of caution on the connectors… and I likely have to buy a new unit even after spending the extra for the “metal” version. Didn’t even get a full season out of this one unfortunately.

This RAINPOINT sprinkler timer works great for my garden. The two outlets are very convenient because I can control different watering areas separately. It is easy to install, simple to program, and saves time on daily watering. The timer works reliably and helps keep my lawn and plants watered consistently. Great product and good value for the price.

Ok folks, this IS the water sprinkler timer to get. I've purchased competitive models in the past, each with limited adjustments, and this one takes the cake! I have three long raised beds and have always struggled to get enough water pressure by a single line by the time I get to the third bed. This unit solves the problem by having two hose outlets where you can individually program them to come on at different times and for different intervals. In addition, the watering frequency is highly programmable compared to my previous competitor unit which only allowed 6 hours as the minimum frequency. This allows you to achieve frequent, short interval watering for super hot and sunny climates. The unit is easy to program and I was off to the races after a 3 min read of the instruction. Fortunately this is an American company and you don't get clumsy English to decipher. I got the brass model and that should be very durable in long term.

It took a while to figure out how to set How Often to more than once per day. It turns out that when any settings are changed, the Start Time is reset to the first start time of the day. If additional waterings for the day had been scheduled, they won't happen that day and the next watering will be on the next day. The additional waterings will then follow correctly. For instance, at noon I set the Start Time to 6 am and How Often to 12 hours. No watering occurred at 6 pm that day. Waterings were as desired the next day. On another day I changed a setting at 2 pm. The 6 pm watering was canceled. I am now careful to change the settings after the last watering of the day. This trickiness may have been the cause one of the issues mentioned in a 2-star review. Also, it suggests to me that the software quality of the water timer is not the greatest. The (good quality) manual that I downloaded from the Amazon site did not mention this issue. I couldn't tell for sure from Amazon's product description what to expect in the shipment. I only received the water timer, in a plastic bag printed with "Ready to Ship" and only a barcode label. No Teflon tape or printed literature, such as a manual. Is that how the brand new product is shipped, or did I receive something less that that?

***follow up*** The nice folks at Rainpoint sent a replacement, which is currently working great. Assuming it continues working through to next season I am happy to keep this at 5 star rating as when it works it works great. Great customer service as well. ***original review*** worked for one season. lived indoors over the winter, plugged in again this season and water ran through the unit instead of through the hoses and instantly killed it. don't buy it.

This timer lasted five months. I took the batteries out and put it away well before our first frost. I event stored it indoors. I just hooked up the system for the '26 season, added fresh batteries and discovered water flows regardless of configuration, On or Off, 100% of the time the spigot is open. After, several failed tries with similar timers from Orbit, I wanted to like this product. Perhaps they are all made in the same factory? Disappointed. Update to my review above: The seller of this product did promptly offer to issue a full refund for the product, which I gladly accepted. Also, a couple of weeks later, the manufacture reached out via email and offered the same, so at least the customer service around this product was responsive and produced a result I was very happy with. Update to my reviews above (10/10/2026): The manufacturer/seller of this product contacted me asking if I'd adjust the number of stars I originally assigned. I think the ask is reasonable. However, I think a separate review for customer service would be most appropriate. So, I would give the customer service a rating of 5, but since the product did not work as advertised I would leave the rating at one star... The question answered was: "how was this product?"

This works as claimed. It is fairly easy to setup. I actually bought a second one as I found it the right product for my needs. If I ever need another one I would not hesitate to buy it.

I bought this to help keep up with my watering in the hot summer - especially if I am on vacation. It’s very straightforward and user friendly. Mike initially broke when I took it off (I believe it was my fault). But Rainpoint sent me a complete replacement for free - their customer service alone is worth the buy!
