Compact but packs a punch
This replaces a glass break hammer I've had since the early 2000's, which was literally a small hammer with a sharp metal point that you strike the glass with.Compared to that this is surprisingly compact, probably the size of a modern key fob but a little thicker. I probably still wouldn't carry it on my keychain but it's at least small enough. To use the glass breaker you just remove the call, put the breaker against the window and push. The center pin is fixed while the surround is spring loaded with the force increasing until a threshold then the surround gives and the pin strikes the glass with a sudden impact that breaks it. There's no guess work as to how much force you need to apply, just keep pushing and it will do the job. The surround then pops back out and it's ready for use again, in case it didn't work the first time. The belt cutter is recessed for safety but still plenty sharp. All in all, a nice update that is small and but packs a punch.

Light and easy to hold
OUDEW Window Breaker and Seatbelt Cutter,Keychain Glass Breaker,Emergency Car Escape Tool with Seat Belt Cutter,Portable Push-Type Safety Hammer for Land&Underwater(2pcs Black)Hopefully I will never have to use this! This is light and large that it fits in your hand easy. Unlike others that you hold with your thumb and forefinger and have to push it against the window. Using this one you can use the palm of your hand to push it against the window. Good if you don't have strong fingers or are unable to use your fingers to grip anything after an accident. Or hold it against the window and hit it with the other hand.Has a lanyard attached to the cover part of the seat belt cutter. It is on tight so practice pulling it off so you know how to use it if needed and to loosen it up a bit. Grab the plastic cover and pull it from there to loosen it a bit first rather than to keep yanking the attached lanyard. The window breaker part has a plastic cover over it. Remove that and push it against the side window to break. I tried it on a note pad and seems strong enough to go through several sheets of paper. You get two of these. Keep one on your keychain and gift the other one.

They really work
At first, I was disappointed in these because I was not able to get them to trip but then I realized that I was not using them on a hard surface like your side window would be. To test I place a small sheet of glass on the floor and tried again, with Softy glasses of course. BAM the result was instant, and the glass shattered as the breaker tip did its job. I was happy to see that it automatically reset too after breaking the glass. There is piece that comes off in case you need to cut your seatbelt.I saw on the news where a driver was slumped over his wheel and bystander motorists were running alongside and his car as it was slowly moving down the road. They were not able to open the door or break the glass. Luckily the car came to rest on the median, however it could have ended differently. Imagine if one of these good Samaritans had one of these glass breakers with them, it could have ended much quicker.

Excellent Tool
In order to write a review I needed to break some glass! i had some old glass shelves from a medicine cabinet and tried the device on them. I didn’t have to hit it that hard, and the effect was literally shattering! This was tempered glass so its not the same as the side car windows as far as I know. However this small spring loaded tool worked like a charm. The tool has a round removable protective cap that stops the spring-loaded device from firing. It's easy to remove but does stay in place unless you pull it off. Then you just push and break the window. There's a small strap on the cover that protects the blade of the seatbelt cutter. If you give a reasonable tug the protective cover comes off and the blade is exposed for cutting the seatbelt. These are very small devices about a 2 1/2 inches but very effective.

Safety Tools for Emergencies!
Still Learning the removal process. Takes practice. It's just that I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or maybe I need to read instructions again without my kids screaming.. it's a very handy tool in case you get "kidnapped." Just saying. It's more of a hassle when you walk around and you don't have at least one of these on you or the keychains. It makes a big difference for emergencies that might come up. You'll never know. I want to be prepared at all times!

Compact.
I haven't been able to test out the breaking of a window. I didn't want to use my Colorado and my husband seemed upset when I went to test it on his car. 😁 I was going to keep it in the door but decided to put it on a carabiner so it could be easily accessible to all. One thing I will change is the hanger. Maybe make the ends velcro so it could be clipped and pulled off quickly in emergencies. I do like the small size.

Untested but Too Small
I thought this tool would be a good idea to keep in my glove compartment in case of emergency. It’s probably better as it was meant to be, on a keychain. It’s a very small tool. The seat belt cutter is literally about a half inch of blade when exposed and I can’t imagine it working. The metal window breaker spike requires you remove a plastic guard, then holding the small tool and ramming it into the window, pushing back the protective spike sleeve. It does not have a trigger to push out the spike. Given the very small size, I think it would be very easy to hurt your hand while using the glass breaker. I plan to buy something larger.
