Excellent book - easy to read and very effective
I loved this book and the insights it gave to living a better more self-disciplined life. Each day starts off with a great quote and you can tell that Martin is well read in the personal development field. Instead of one a day, I batch read the days and found them useful. Highly recommended.

Great book, useful ideas, pithy comments, easy to remember
In case you can't be bothered to read the whole review let me start by saying I highly recommend this book, no reservations. I have read a number of self help books and most of them that are aimed at "success" mean financial success. This book is aimed at helping the reader develop self-discipline to achieve their goal whatever they may be - eat less, get fitter, drink less, be happier, run a successful business. Some of the ideas have been out there for a while, many were completely new to me. Even those I had met before were worth re-reading and some of the new ones have struck home. I have found them all useful, some significantly so. The fact that MM quotes well known people from all walks of life makes the reading more fun. Because each "day" is about a page long the book is easy to read and digest. I recommend it to anyone wanting to get a better grip on any aspect of their life, even time management.

Food for Thought
Well, 365 days of thoughts to assist with your drive for greater ‘Self Control and Mental Discipline’. The book is divided into Chapters/Days each with an appropriate ‘quote’ from various sources such as stoic philosophers; self-help gurus through to heads of industry and horror writers even including a well known if infamous British Occultist (some you will know others you may need to check). The quote is only the ‘opener’ as the author then expands or adds to these thoughts, suggesting how the ethos may be incorporated into YOUR life assisting you in moving forward, understanding and overcoming the challenges you face. It is a large composition as it is designed to cover the 365 days of the year, therefore, presents the reviewer with a problem to review the work you need to step outside of the authors intention (to provide the reader/seeker with daily thoughts to guide them in their journey) and read through the chapters sometimes forgoing the reflection on the content. Having said that the initial read gives a flavour of the content and does allow for a return visit to further the understanding and usefulness of the wisdom contained in the chapters. I have a Kindle issue and feel a printed issue would be advantageous but the cost of the printed copy is somewhat prohibitive, so I will be saving the pennies to allow for the purchase!A worthwhile read which gives the seeker food for thought and a direction in which to seek an answer. I will give a rating of 4* to a considered and helpful work that will I am sure form a compass for those wishing to move forward in their life.

Decent book
Good book with a lot of helpful tips. Although I found it got a little wishy washy after about 250 days.

We love this book!
So far, this book has helped us keep to a good diet, quit smoking, cut back on alcohol, exercise more, and handle stressful and demanding situations more rationally. As part of a morning routine, we start the day with a page from this book that sets the day off in the right direction prompting self-control, and positive thinking. “Do I really need to buy that, eat this, let the negative and doubts get to me: the answer, almost always is No!“Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: everything around you that you call life was made up of people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use”. - Steve Jobs. Has Become my Daily Dose of Discipline
Such an amazing book that I would recommend to everybody. It is truly inspirational and will be kept close for as long as I am able to read. I WILL be going over them all again. The evaluation of the quotes gives you a lot to think about that day. It is clear he is very knowledgeable in this field and you would save yourself from a mediocre life if you pick this book up, mull over the ideas and slowly implement them. (I bought this book on Kindle)

Brilliant book
This book is very well written and I am enjoying reading it. I read a few chapters a day. There is so much good information on how to have more self discipline in your life. It makes you realise how much time you waste in life. I am a 70 year old woman and probably have nothing in common with the author but that does not seem to matter. The rules we should live by are relevant to us all. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter are great too.

Actionable Steps
Good resource for building new habits. I like the bite size daily lessons. More manageable than similar resources I have used. Still intend to dip in and out regularly. I looked forward to reading my daily advice when I got up. Just started on another of his on Grit.
