I can’t believe I waited so long to try the Litter Genie XL+ Pail — it has made dealing with litter box cleanup so much easier and way less smelly! I have two cats, and before this, I was constantly taking small bags of waste out to the trash to avoid odors in the house. Now, I just scoop and drop it right into the Litter Genie, and it locks away the smell perfectly. The XL+ size is fantastic. I can go several days without having to empty it, even with two cats, which is a huge convenience. The jumbo refill bag included lasts a long time and is easy to replace. The pail itself is compact and fits right next to the litter box without taking up too much space. Another bonus: it’s super easy to use. The pull-and-lock system keeps odors sealed in, and the entire process of scooping and disposing is quick and hygienic. Cleaning out the pail is also very simple. If you’re a cat owner tired of constant trips to the trash can and lingering litter odors, I highly recommend the Litter Genie XL+. It’s a small investment that makes a big difference in keeping your home fresh and clean!

Wife loves it, keeps odor from scooped litter controlled, bags are heavy duty. The scope that comes with it is kind of flimsy but we bought a better scoop. Works great.

I really enjoy this litter genie. It's a large one. It's a large capacity which is very helpful. I don't know who says that. It doesn't keep the odor in. It's depending on the bag that you put in there. If you buy generic, cheap bags and put them in here. No, it's not going to keep the odor in buy the litter genie bags that go with this. And the smell will stay contained. This is a great product.

I’ve been using the Litter Genie XL+ Pail for a few weeks now, and it does a good job of controlling odors and making litter disposal more convenient. However, there’s a frustrating issue with the locker mechanism. Pros: ✔ Effective Odor Control – The pail does a great job sealing in odors, keeping my home smelling fresh. ✔ Easy to Use – The one-handed operation makes disposal quick and easy. ✔ Large Capacity – The XL+ size is perfect for a multi-cat household, as I don’t have to empty it as often. ✔ Includes Jumbo Refill – The included refill bag lasts a decent amount of time. Cons: ➖ Locker Always Comes Loose – The locker mechanism that holds the lid closed is very flimsy and constantly comes loose, which is quite annoying. ➖ Refills Are Expensive – While the pail is useful, the cost of replacement bags can add up quickly. Final Thoughts: While the odor control and ease of use make this system great, the locker issue is a major inconvenience. If that can be fixed, it would be a much more reliable product. I’m on the fence about recommending it because of this flaw.

UPDATE: I’ve had this litter genie for several months now, and I am happier than ever that I got it. The larger size can go for at least two weeks before needing to be emptied. The only negative with that is the bag weight with two week’s worth of used litter - it gets heavy. No odor or unpleasant smell and it is so easy. For several years, I used a three-gallon bucket with lid lined with a couple of trash bags to collect the clumps and poo from the litter box. We have two kitty girls and a jumbo litter box for them, so they keep us busy. Thought this was a great system until I pet sit at a friend's house for their kitties and saw how well their litter genie worked. I was there a week so got to see for myself how well this litter solution works. Ordered my own litter genie in a larger size, set it up (easy peasy) and am so happy I did. Why did I wait so long??? I know there are no perfect solutions, and everyone has their own, but this litter genie does a wonderful job.

I love my new litter, genie. It makes clean up so much easier. It is a fantastic product and a fantastic price.

This isn’t just good for 3+ cats, this is a necessity to any cat owner. The original being a little bit smaller means that you’re gonna be changing the bag pretty often if your cat goes regularly. With my three cats typically takes about four days for the entire bag to be filled. Before with the original it would be Every two days. Definitely like this one a lot more and the only issue is that it doesn’t seal very well. One of them I had to kind of break it out a place to make it fit properly and actually close off the stinky part. The other one you just had to push it in really far for it to work. That’s really the only issue with it you can make do with it.

Just my point of view from 49 years of keeping cats. I have found that a Litter locker in a home that has one or two cats was not a luxury. You need one. Your home smells great and your cat(s) are happy. I keep the litter locker near the box for easy cleaning. I usually clean the litter box daily and make sure it closed well. If the litter is staying dry enough there should be very little odor even if you just cleaned it. If you do have any issue with wet litter smell a change of litter in the box and a good cleaning will help. Even with today’s automated cat box systems you can still use the Locker for the little surprises that my cat has been known to bring me. She has very long hair and sometimes brushes up against something that sticks. She knows and brings her problem to me so that she doesn’t feel dirty. She’s very good about it all. Only l would get a fussy Persian! She’s a sweetheart though. After her cleanup she runs to her room to see me pop the door on the Litter Locker. scooped and stirred up. If l thought I could love a flushable litter l would do that but I am still waiting for the perfect litter. I do have an automatic cat box, it’s ten years old. It was for my previous cat. She couldn’t get the hang of using the litter and then letting the machine clean up. She got so paranoid about her droppings that she was trying to send them to China! In the process she got covered in clumps of litter and worse. Poor little girl had to go back to her old box. I cleaned and covered the machine and the next kitty to come to live with me went right in there and loved watching the machine clean up after she was done. She would run through half the house to see, after the pause it would take to get the litter to set. Now she sits outside and watches for it.

Large enough to last several months for my 2 semi outdoor Cats. No odour escapes as shutter door seals well. The built in blade makes bag changing easy. I use tiny cable ties to twist and tie off old bag before cutting the end so never come in contact with its contents and use another tight tie to start next bag. Amazon unfortunately doesnt stock replacement bag cassettes here in South Africa but found perfect generic bag rolls that fits into original cartridge on Temu.

It is definitely large (helpful when you have more than one cat), but it's a bit flimsier than the smaller version (I owned this previously). It tipped over by accident when I was unboxing it, and half of the pieces broke away. The smaller version you could lift it up by the open slot in the back with no issue, but with this one, the top lid comes off if you hold it by this same slot. After tipping over empty (again, just from the ground - not like I was even holding it up off the ground and dropping it), the spring in the slider part broke. It definitely seems a bit too expensive for the quality - disappointed considering the smaller version I've purchased in the past (not from this seller mind you) was much sturdier.

I have four cats. After a few weeks of using this pail, I feel I can do a fairly accurate review of the product. Odour control. It ticks that box. Note, it only says odour control in the wording, not odour eliminating. However, between the cat litter I started using for my cats, and this pail, the odour control is far higher than I expected. It's taller and narrower, rather than shorter and wider. Therefore it fits in the spare I have available far better than any normal kind of bin I've used in the past. So you might want to double check the space you have available against the measurements of the pail. I have four cats. Four indoor cats. The cartridge with the plastic insert is lasting well. I wasn't too sure about how strong it would be just tying knots in the bottom, and once filled, in the top, but surprisingly it's worked fine so far. Indeed, I've had ordinary bin bags give way on more than one occasion compared to this. How long does it take to fill the pail before it requires being emptied? For my four cats, it lasts about seven days before I have to remove the waste, and tie a new knot in the bottom of the plastic to start the process all over again. The downside? The initial outlay is far more than your normal bin from a supermarket. However, it has been pretty well designed and does the job better than a bog-standard bin. The other downside? The cartridge with the plastic interior is a bit expensive in my view, but overall it does the job well so I can kind of look beyond that - for now at least. A little detail is the holder for the litter scoop clips onto the inner edge of the pail, and is easy to remove so you can keep it clean. Plus, the top where the plastic doesn't cover is also easy to wipe down with an appropriate cleaner, so it all helps contain those odours to which I referred. Would I recommend this product? Actually, yes I would. I thought it might be far more of a gimmick than a serious piece of animal husbandry, but it definitely isn't a gimmick.

Wish I bought this years ago. Amazing product. We live in a small apartment and guests say they cant smell the little. Easy enough to use. Will never use anything else for litter
