Very good speaker. The only thing I love about this is the stability of bluetooth connection. I have two devices connected to this - TV and Phone and both work flawlessly. Sound quality is good. Design is awesome. I wish I could detach the cable. This is the only minor flaw I see along with the length of the cable.

I'm going to keep this review simple. I was looking for the conference room sound quality that you would find in almost all tech companies back in the 2010's era. You know that sound I'm talking about. The one with the rich deep voice and exceptional quality. Well this is it! Now that I remember, most of those tech company conference phones were Poly's. The issue was that back then they cost like $1200. Not this one! :). If that sound is what you want then look no further. I also like that it has that subtle mute sound and a nice red led bar that lights up to indicate that mute is on. It's a great product! I did try a few other products and was not happy with them. Jabra speak2 75 was not the sound I was looking for. It is decent but sounded thin. This one is it! buy it!

Audio quality is very good. I like that it can be used plugged in to USB/USB-C, or connected via Bluetooth, so I can use it in conference room setups, with a laptop or tablet/phone. My two complaints: 1. I don't like the bottom plastic. It looks and feels like a rotomolded kayak. It would look nicer if the black or dark grey extended down further instead. (That's a pretty petty complaint considering it is fairly durable.) 2. The cord wraps around the bottom and plug then snaps in to a cut out on the bottom. Because of out this is designed, the cord has to be pulled pretty snug, causing a 90 degree bend where the cord enters the USB plug. This isn't an issue if it remains plugged in most the time and is only transported on occasion, but given this is designed to be a portable speakerphone, the plan from the designers is that the cord will be regularly wrapped and crimped. That is going to cause a failure, which will prevent charging, and create garbage. The only question is how long it will take. My current solution to this problem is to leave the USB plug detached from the adapter, this allows the cord to remain straighter, and slightly loose. While not ideal, the design limits many other options. I may try using velcro. The designers should have placed the holder clip at the end of the long straight edge, rather than the end so the cord didn't bend when secured for transport. Or optionally, made the cord a detachable USB-C so that it could be easily replaced and used with any phone charger.

Love this little but powerful guy! We run monthly meetings where several come together and there is always some side business going on where people might be having a quick conversation. When we were listening just through a laptop and we had these side bar conversation it was terrible, I was constantly doing the 'Shhhhhhh' thing so that the rest of us could hear or so that when speaking to our partners on the other end of the line could hear without having this side conversation being the center of the conversation. Now with this wonderful product; Poly, we do not have these issues any longer. We have the ability to have those quick conversations without it bothering everyone else. I am no longer saying 'shhhhh' as if I were their mother. We can hear better and the extra noises are drowned out. The only thing I would like better would to have a little more volume control as we have one person that has hearing aids and she could use it just a hair bit louder, however, everyone else thinks great of the Poly. I use this for my remote meetings in my home office. It has great speakers, plenty of volume, and the mic has very good pickup. If I ever need a replacement, this is what I'll get again.

This product is not worth the price. In fact it’s not worth even 30$. Please stop advertising this product. The fundamental issue is that audio constantly drops with Mac max M3. Incompatible with MacBook.

I love this device, I work at home and two separate offices, this is a great tool for conducting teams/zoom/video/phone calls. the bluetooth connectivity with my smartphone is great, and it works well plugged in via cable to my laptop as well, my only criticism is that I wish it could get a little louder but this is not a serious problem, for work phone calls the volume output is perfectly useable, I use it for white noise while I sleep/nap too.

Says it has 30 hour battery in listing but switches off after 8 hours

Was supplied a defective part. So was not able to connect to my computer. returning it.

Update 10.2023 (Vergleich mit Jabra Speak 2 55): (Die eigentliche Bewertung des Poly Sync 40 ab dem 2. Absatz.) ------------------------------- Ich hatte kürzlich die Möglichkeit, das neue Jabra Speak 2 55 zu testen. Da ich das Poly Sync 40 nun seit 2,5 Jahren fast täglich im Einsatz habe und nach wie vor sehr zufrieden damit bin (s.u.), ich aber gerne nach Verbesserungen suche, war ich sehr auf das neue Jabra gespannt. Zumal die Vorgänger-Modelle 510/710 auch sehr gut waren. Das Jabra Speak 2 55 wurde mit vorbildlich wenig Verpackung geliefert, ohne Plastik, trotzdem kam es ohne Makel an. Optisch für mich das schönste Gerät, die Verarbeitung wirkt sehr hochwertig. Klanglich konnte es meine (zu?) hohen Erwartungen nicht ganz erfüllen, gegenüber den Vorgängermodellen (710/750) ist es leider kaum besser, gegenüber dem 510 allerdings schon. Im direkten Vergleich zum Poly Sync 40 muss ich sagen, dass das Poly für mich immer noch die Nr. 1 ist. Dessen Klang ist insgesamt natürlicher, etwas zu basslastig zwar, aber auch mit klaren Höhen. Das Jabra Speak 2 betont -wie die Vorgänger- mehr die Sprachfrequenzen, was ich für ein "Konferenz-Gerät" ok finde. Insgesamt gefiel mir der Klang des Polys aber auch bei Sprache besser. Die Mikrofone sind m.E. ebenbürtig, also recht gut, aber es geht zukünftig hoffentlich noch besser bzg. Echo/Hall usw. Das neue Jabra hatte in meiner Umgebung etwas weniger Hall - minimaler Vorsprung für das Jabra. Da das Poly 40 derzeit um die 170-180€ kostet, das Jabra Speak 2 55 derzeit um die 115€ geht der Preis-Leistungs-Sieg m. E. klar an das neue Jabra. Absolut gebe ich dem Poly 40 aber immer noch den Vorzug. Wäre das größere Jabra 2 75 nicht so deutlich teurer (derzeit ca. 250€), würde ich das gerne auch testen, aber preislich käme es eh nicht infrage. ------------------------------------------------ Ursprüngliche Rezension Poly 40: Ich nutze das Speakerphone als Freisprecheinrichtung bei Telefonaten zuhause mit dem Smartphone und bei Zoom-Meetings mit Laptop bzw. Desktop-PC. Hintergrund ist, dass ich bei längeren und/oder wichtigen Gesprächen gerne die Hände frei habe und mir die Klang-/Sprachqualität von Smartphone-Lautsprechern/-Mikrofonen nicht gut genug ist. Gleiches gilt für Laptop-Lautsprecher und -Mikros (hier: Lenovo T470). Bei längeren Gesprächen empfinde ich das als unnötig anstrengend. Auch meine Gesprächspartner beklagten sich häufiger über die schlechte Tonqualität, wenn ich das Smartphone vor mir auf dem Tisch liegen habe und die Freisprechfunktion nutze. Nehmen noch weitere Personen im selben Raum am Gespräch teil, wird es noch schlechter, insbesondere, wenn eine Person weiter weg sitzt oder umhergeht. Neben dem Poly 40 hatte ich auch das Jabra Speak 510, das 710 und -neu- das Beyerdynamic Space. Klangqualität: Poly 40: Sehr gut (für einen Mono-Lautsprecher). Der gesamte Frequenzbereich wird recht gut abgebildet, insgesamt empfinde ich das Klangbild als recht warm, man könnte fast sagen "bassbetont", allerdings sind auch die Höhen klar. Es fehlt nicht viel, und man könnte damit auch Musik angenehm hören. Die Sprachverständlichkeit ist sehr gut (hängt natürlich auch davon ab, mit welchen Equipment die Gegenseite telefoniert oder zoomt). Offenbar wird man auch vom Gesprächspartner gut und klar verstanden, ohne zuviel Hall/Echo o.ä. Die Lautstärke ist für Gespräche mehr als ausreichend. Als Ersatz für eine Partybox sind solche Geräte nicht gedacht und das schaffen sie auch nicht. Jabra 710: Sehr gut. Mir scheint es, dass beim Jabra 710 speziell die Sprach-Frequenzen angehoben sind, das führt dazu, dass Gespräche mindestens genau so gut, vielleicht machmal sogar noch besser als beim Poly zu verstehen sind. Dafür ist das gesamte Klangbild nicht so natürlich, die Musikwiedergabe empfinde ich schlechter als beim Poly 40. Das 710 kann etwas lauter als das Poly 40. Für Gespräche uninteressant, bei Musik ev. relevant. Da die Klangqualität aber m. E. etwas schlechter ist, bringt es nicht viel (außer mehr "Lärm"). Beyerdynamic Space: Vom Wiedergabe-Klang kann das Space mit den o.a. Geräten nicht ganz mithalten. Der Klang ist noch etwas basslastiger/wärmer als beim Poly, die Höhe sind aber zu schwach, was die Sprachverständlichkeit geringfügig (aber für mich letztlich entscheidend) mindert. Auch bei Musikwiedergabe fehlt mir wegen der mangelnden Höhenwiedergabe die Klarheit. Das Mikrofon ist in etwa auf dem Niveau der beiden anderen Geräte, Verständlichkeit scheint gut zu sein, entferne ich mich mehr als ca. 1m vom Space nimmt der Hall etwas stärker zu als beim Poly, aber nur minimalst. Jabra 510: Klanglich -egal ob Sprache oder Musik/Geräusche- eine Liga unter den o. g. Geräten. Kostet aber ja auch nur ca. die Hälfte, von daher ok. Immer noch (m. E. deutlich) besser als Handy-Lautsprecher, aber ob es die Anschaffung wert ist, muss jeder selber entscheiden. Ausprobieren... Verarbeitung: Alle Geräte sind von der Verarbeitung einwandfrei und auf dem Niveau, den man für die Preise erwarten kann. Das Poly und das Space, mit der Stoffbespannung und dem soliden Kunststoff, wirken für mich insgesamt am hochwertigsten, aber nur minimal. Geschmackssache. Vorteile Poly 40 (gegenüber den Jabras): + USB A und C Anschlüsse in einem Kabel + Powerbank-Funktion (nicht so wichtig) Nachteile Poly 40 (ggü. Jabras): - Format und Gewicht größer/höher, für den mobilen Einsatz unterwegs ein wenig unpraktischer. Würde ich ein solches Gerät häufig unterwegs nutzen wollen oder mit mir im Raum herumtragen müssen, würde ich das Jabra 710 nehmen. Beyerdynamic Space: + Formfaktor identisch wie bei den Jabras, also kompakter als Poly. Der Bedienungsring liegt aber mehr in der Mitte, die Gefahr, beim Herumtragen versehentlich eine Taste zu betätigen, ist deutlich geringer. + USB-C-Kabel mit (separatem) USB-A Stecker, also flexible Lösung, je nach benötigtem Anschluss - Die Symbole sind nicht beleuchtet (nur der Ring drumherum), im Dunkeln ist eine gezielte Bedienung (lauter/leiser usw) schwierig. Bedienung: Hier tun sich alle gennanten Geräte aus meiner Sicht nichts, sie funktionieren fast selbsterklärend. Die Touch-Bedienung (bei allen) ist nun mal sehr berührungsempfindlich, ich mag lieber "richtige" Tasten. Sähe aber nicht so schick aus. subjektive Bewertung: 1. Poly Sync 40 2. Jabra Speak 710 (mit denkbar kleinem Abstand zum Poly, eher Geschmackssache) 3. Beyerdynamic Space (ein klein wenig mehr Abstand zu Platz 1 und 2, wegen der fehlenden Höhen und zuviel Bass, schade, könnte sonst auch Nr. 1 sein.) 4. Jabra Speak 510 (kostet aber ca. nur die Hälfte!)

Ich niutze den Conference Speaker für meine täglichen Video Sessions mit unseren Mitarbeitern weltweit Würde ich wieder kaufen. Leider ist der Preis etwas teuer, abwer die Qualität und der Nutzen des Speakers ist sehr gut
