This is perfect! I only order one hinge for my daughter’s toy chest and it works wonderfully. It holds the lid up and you have to pull down to get it to start closing. Once it goes, it goes down very slowly and shuts softly. Plus it’s super easy to install as long as you have a drill!

Exactly what I needed for my built in bench. My bench top is large and heavy, made with heavy furniture grade plywood 36” wide and 23” deep. I recently added a window AC unit to the window in the video and the bench lid is only able to open 75 degrees. This means the lid could no longer rest against the window frame when fully open, meaning you had to use one hand to hold the lid open and the other to place or remove whatever you needed in the bench. I needed a solution that would not only hold the lid open while accessing the storage area but also keep it from hitting the AC unit. This worked perfect for me. Install was quick and easy. PLEASE NOTE: The instructions I received stated the full open position should NOT be less than 90 degrees, my installation is exactly 75 degrees and working just fine.

These worked like a charm. No more slamming lid on our heavy Amish-built chest.

These were easy to install and generally a good product. The problem I have is the top I installed them on is 30"x30" 3/4 solid pine and weighs about 20 lbs. The hinge works good for about 3/4 of the travel down, then it slams down. I do not think it is the weight, but the size of the lid. If it was not as deep (30") it would probably work fine. I wish there was a beefier one that you could adjust the tension on. It does not work that great for my application. The screws that attach to the top lid were kind of puny. I replaced them with 1" screws.

Easy to install, and no worries about pinching fingers

I was encouraged by the numerous 5-star reviews and the template & video included for mounting, so I purchased these to complete my child's toy chest. HEADS UP: Make sure you have enough clearance before you start drilling holes. Like two other reviews noted, the upper bracket rests on the white soft-close piece, so the lid does not shut completely. I'm actually surprised more people have not encountered this issue! I had to remove all of the screws and mount the supports about 1/2 inch lower than the template suggests. Ugly drill holes need to be filled! Keep in mind I used a digital angle finder to ensure the lid was exactly 105° per instructions, and I am an experienced woodworker, so you can imagine my frustration when I finished installing the supports and the chest lid wouldn't close completely. As another reviewer pointed out, notice in Step 7 of the instructions the mount is higher than it is in Step 9. It is lower in Step 9 and I wish I had seen that review before wasting 30 minutes. Once I remedied the issue, the soft close supports work well. 3 stars for a shoddy template and a functional item.

ordered these hinges a couple months ago and really struggled to make them work. the installation instructions were not even close to being correct. I emailed the company and asked them to correct the problem and save a lot of frustration for future costumers. Just ordered another set and the new set had the correct installation instructions. Worked perfectly the first time. Nice to have customer support that really cares. Great hinges!!!!!!!!

These work good on small toy chests and easily adjusted for more or less force required to close the lid. They don’t really have a soft close feature and are more suited to ensure the lid is held open to prevent it from closing unexpectedly.

Only been on a couple of days but working exactly as promised. Exactly what I needed for a large wooden storage box. Much safer now.

Perfect. Easy to install and definitely soft close

Unlike a couple of other products I tried, this one actually worked, maintaining a soft close all the way to the point of contact. Absolutely crucial to its use on a toy box. Another satisified customer has posted a video of their end result which is pretty much what I have too. I followed the instructions carefully and used the fixing template supplied without any problem. Some have criticised the instructions supplied but the only moment of confusion I had was thinking the two hinges supplied were identical - they are in fact reversible you just need to pull the hinge from the mounting and turn it round. If you are building a box from scratch I would recommend that you take note of the hinge mounting needing about 90mm of flat surface down from the top edge and the arm mounting point being about 170mm from the hinge point.
