Must have!
I've used this with my son from 3 months old (when I discovered it) and I still use it at 12 months. This has helped me have a good night's sleep and not worry about his breathing in the night. We have never had a false alarm. Cannot recommend the sensor, enough!I do wish we would have bought the video one, as he gets older, if like to see when he is trying to climb out of his cot! But that's because so didn't think far enough ahead, and this is my first child.Would recommend to every parent!

Infuriating to set-up and I have some worries
I've been using this Angelcare system for two days now and, compared to the Babysense I previously owned, it was infuriating to set-up. It requires a 300x300x60mm hardwood base that is not supplied. It's also not immediately suitable for wicker cots as there is insufficient room for the anti-strangle system. You must remove and refit it so the cable can fit through the smaller gap. This is a fiddly and time consuming process but worth it in the end. Batteries were supplied for only two of the three units which was annoying. The remote units have lost their connection twice already and resetting them requires the base unit be plugged into the mains. This is not clear and I wasted a lot of time following the trouble-shooting tips to no avail. It's not a distance or interference issue but a procedural one. If a new connection is not made within 30 seconds the remote units gives up and you need to repeat the procedure. Could the connection fail while the baby is asleep? I don't know but it is a worry of mine. The main alarm is weak compared with the Babysense and I fear I could sleep through it. As such keep a remote unit close so I get a double whammy. I did contemplate sending it back as 'not fit for purpose' but it took so so long to set-up I think I will persevere a little longer. When it is going it has been reliable.

Eats Batteries
We have had to replace the batteries in the baby transmitter unit three times in three nights since we started using it. At four batteries a time this is not very practical. Will be going back.

Best buy for new baby
I bought this as I really had no idea which monitor to get! Camera's are fine to 'keep an eye' but you never watch them all night do you (or if you did you would get no sleep!) I looked at monitors with the top reviews and this was the best. My family thought I was 'paranoid' buying this but I never intended to purchase a mat to 'monitor breathing' and never felt I needed one. In hindsight,, it is the best purchase I bought in preparation for the birth of my child and we now recommend it to EVERYONE! It honestly gave us the best nights sleep that we have ever had knowing someone was 'watching over' our son when he went into his own room. It has night light, monitors room temperature, picks up all noises and alarms if they stop breathing (or hold their breath as newborns like to do). Very easy to use and we even took it on holidays with us. Worth every penny!!!

Mixed reviews
Mixed reviews on this. We've had it in constant use for 8 months, one of the monitors died after 6 months.Pros...The sensor pad works really well, we had it in the Moses basket initially, and then in the cot under the memory foam mattress. I know it says it doesn't work under memory foam, we tried it and it works fine with the sensitivity turned up, and it doesn't matter where he is in the cot. We also put it directly on the bed slats.ConsThe lights!! The hand set screens are bright blue and light up the room all night. You can't dim them or turn it down. Not conducive to a good night sleep!!The nursery monitor has a bright blue night light again I don't know why you'd want to light up the nursery that much. We keep that turned off.It also has a bright light for being on and a bright flashing light when connected to the sensor pad. We put electrical tape over these lights very quickly! The noise. Why the hand set buttons have to be so loud I don't know. But when you are trying to be quiet and not wake the other half it makes it difficult. There is not hold button on the nursery monitor, so of you take baby out and forget to have turned the sensor off, all the alarms go and you then have to go find the hand set but because the alarm is going you can't turn it off without resetting the nursery set first or putting baby back down...all great at 3 am with a screaming baby...If you use the hold setting on the hand set to avoid the above, it beeps incessantly until you "unhold" it again. Not helpful if you are trying to put baby to sleep listening to a beep every few seconds and your other half is now awake because of it too.Overall, for peace of mind the sensor pad is great. If you don't care about that, get a different monitor .

Cannot recommend enough
I cannot recommend this monitor enough. We have an ancient old farmhouse with walls up to 5ft thick. Our monitor has no problem getting signal in our house, not to mention out on the farm when your doing a late check on the sheep during lambing. It also gives such peace of mind with the sense mat to know they are ok in bed happily sleeping. Highly recommend this monitor to anyone. Ok, it doesn't sing lullabies or let you talk to your child, but it gives you peace of mind knowing their safe & if you loose signal it lets you know. Great product

Absolutely brilliant. No need for silly screen as long as you can hear sound and also know baby is breathing that is enough. Works flawlessly with premature 5lb baby. Outstanding item

We've had 2 of these and they're great
We've had 2 of these and bought this as a replacement because I broke the first one (I think I was being clumsy, they are not fragile!). We never use the movement sensor but as a sound monitor they are reliable with good battery life and I would recommend them. The menu system and settings could definitely be easier to understand, you will need the manual!
