Having had this unit for a year, I'm still happy with the purchase. It works great while being fun and easy to use.

This does produce a thermal image. For the price that alone is amazing. However, the tiny video screen you look into is far too bright for nighttime use, and I could find no way to dim it. It completely destroys your night vision in that eye and wrecks any depth perception you might have had in dim light. Could you find an enemy hiding in a dark alley? Yes. Could you deal with him? Unlikely if you can only see out of one eye. For game, it might work, but shooting at game in the dark with one eye blinded can get you in trouble if there is something expensive behind it.

Product works as advertised. Very easy to use and easy instructions. However, with the new tariffs, the product may become much more costly.

Totally unclear view

This thing is the bomb! Old guy new to this technology. I just got done buying and returning a $1000 dollar ( actually a $4000 market price LD-400 ) Raytheon unit that was totally outdated. Too big, too heavy, worn out. Cost me $250 shipping to learn a lesson! This unit does what I wanted. Watching things around the house and cabin in choice of palette, at the touch of a button. Easily getting views to the stated distance, maybe farther. I looked at all the reviews of all units in this price range and for the price I don’t think it can be beat. For $800 more you can see a few more details, but is facial hair worth that much?! Buy it and the protection package and you probably won’t ever regret it! Of course YMMV but that’s my 2 cents!! Update: Last weekend at the cabin, pitch black, scanning around looking at the hot air “leaking” out of cabins in the area and surprised myself with a clearly identifiable elk standing broadside in something like hot, fiery pink at 200 yds +-. Black hot is way clear and cool, too. Kinda like the view on an overcast day at dusk, but in pitch black, darkness! Also getting clear, good views of a mountain 1/2 mile from my place in town in all palettes. Can also see the police helicopter circling over bad guys in the ‘hood at least that far off. Really happy with the unit! Useful tool and fun toy!

Great unit! The rubber cap wouldn't stay on..

I purchased the T-Recon thermal monocular and have been using it for a couple months now in my hunting arsenal. So far I've been amazed with the performance and value it's provided. It's completely elevated my night hunting and tracking experience.The first thing you notice with it is the quality. I wasn't sure what to expect, but when I opened it out of the package, I was blown away. It has an incredible build quality with a metal housing that feels very durable and study, without being too heavy. It's held up through all the use so far without any issue at all, and I don't foresee any durability concerns in the near future.In terms of performance, it provides a very nice, clear image and is much better than some of the other budget options that I've come across from some buddies. I've been able to spot deer from a couple hundred yards away with relatively good detail and focus, which is quite impressive. The digital zoom that it has is excellent. It allows you to zoom and focus in good detail at long distances.Overall, I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking to add a thermal imaging scope to their toolset with great performance and build quality!
