Great smart device
Great product. Works really well within its own ecosystem and connects easily via a hub to Alexa. We've added it to all sorts of routines such as opening at sunrise, closing at sunset and closing when we turn our projector on. They are really easy to set up and when I did have a faulty customer service was fantastic. They talked me through possible solutions and when that didn't work they sent out a new one.

A smart idea
**updated review**Customer service is 5*, bought for bedroom and the quality is good with clear instructions on how to set up and link to the app. Once you’ve got the hang of it, it’s pretty easy to get set up and put it into action. Customer service reached out immediately to discuss some issues had when connecting but their professionalism, friendly staff and passion in their product is something to admire. I fully recommend the company and encourage to buy, hopefully they will sell twin packs in the future for rod curtain rails so that you can close curtains in the middle.

They work and do what they say but for voice control you must have the SwitchBot hub to
Very impressed I bought two of these and very impressed there to help my wife who is disabled and struggles to stand but the big thing is in order to work with alexa you have to have SwitchBot hub i bought the the SwitchBot mini from Amazon for just under £32.00 which i really wasn't expecting to buy but once added they work seamlessly with alexa open and closeSuper impressed a brilliant product mine on a curtain pole with grommets and works with ease . And total breeze to set upSumming up if you want voice control you have to have a SwitchBot hub hope this helps anyone who may be thinking of buying

Fabulous brilliant gadget
Absolutely love these. Simple to install. Clear instructions are easy to follow. Long battery life goes for months and easy to recharge. Follow instructions about not pulling on rail during installation. I pulled the rail off the wall and regretted it.

Easy to follow instructions.... Buy a hub!
I bought 2 SwitchBot Curtain Rod 3's and at the same time I bought the hub. The hub is required if you want to control the curtains with Google assistant. ... Had no problems setting this hub up with the SwitchBot app, which is available from Google play store, you need to create an account with SwitchBot, took around 2 minutes. At this point you cannot add the hub to Google home, as Google can only see whatever devices are connected to the hub, you also can't link your SwitchBot account at this stage, don't worry,Now to set up my 2 SwitchBot curtains, first ensure you follow the instructions in regard to mounting the devices, and the fixing of the magnetic strips to the curtain rod/pole. Open the SwitchBot app, long press the button on one of the devices, and it should blink the white led quickly. In the app, click add device, after a few moments the device should appear, and you will be asked if your device is on the left, or the right, choose the correct location. Adding the second device is simple, just choose location as opposite to the first device. The next step is to calibrate, in essence, what you are doing is telling the app where the curtains are, for example, open, or closed, which is linked to the position of the magnetic strips. With this step completed, you can now test everything is fine, open, close curtains okay. One last thing to do, is enable "Cloud feature" in the app, and you can move on to Google Home.In Google Home, add a new device, select"works with.." and type "SwitchBot" in the search box, select SwitchBot, and you'll be asked to sign into your SwitchBot account, and that's it, you should be able to operate your curtains with voice commands. To me, the real hard work was fitting the hardware to the rod, a bit fiddly, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I'm now thinking about adding a light sensor/solar panel....As I don't have Alexa, I don't know, but assume it's a very similar process..

Not strong enough and very inconsistent!
I’ve had this now for about 4 months and can honestly say it’s infuriating. A constant need to re-calibrate, the inability to consistently close a curtain fully. I’ve had to give up on them, expensive waste of money! They’re pulling a curtain from one side, certainly not a heavy curtain, it’s a metal pole with metal rings which may be introducing friction, but the motor in the opener just doesn’t sound strong enough. I’ve tried all sorts of different methods with the spacing of the cord and I’ll get it working for a few days perfectly, then it just stops closing fully, maybe 70/80%. Then the whole ordeal starts again.Honestly I just can’t recommend these until motors are stronger. Your mileage may vary with different curtain types etc… but for me it’s a no.

Elegant and Simple
The media could not be loaded. The switchbot curtain robots are a fantastic and simple way to bring smart home functionality to our curtains. The installation was very simple, with the app giving to each step in either pictoral or video form. The units are seemlessly paired together within the app (for a middle close solution) and then they will self calibrate. Simply genius. We were especially pleased that these worked, after having tried a generic/Chinese belt driven track. That solution simply did not work, it would constantly jam, or not close/open the entire way. Im sure this is because the individual eyelets were getting caught.I was apprehensive that the switchbot motors may not work with our curtains, as the track is so long (nearly 5 meters) and th curtains themselves are thick and heavy. But theyre rated for 16kgs, so i gave them a shot and they work!I have deducted a star because of the noise of the units. Ideally they would be quieter, but it is understandable. They can indeed run quieter if desired, but at a much slower pace. The way around this would be to schedule the slow openings at a time you may not notice them.
