Good starter pack for plaque disclosing
As a dental professional I think plaque disclosing is an excellent tool for keeping your teeth plaque-free. This pack is a great introduction. There are not many tablets but you don't need to use them very often. The mirrors are a nice novelty but not necessary for using the product. As others have said, the flavor is not amazing, but it is not unpleasant and I think often the taste people get is simply their own plaque/saliva not being masked by minty toothpaste!3 times to use it : 1. after you forget to brush teeth eg in the morning after a late night etc or if you don't brush your teeth on purpose for 24 hours- great view of just how much plaque builds up! 2. the standard pre and post brushing - chew one before brushing, brush it off, check again after brushing with another tablet 3. random spot check after brushing.A few hints to avoid staining - protect your sink by filling with a bit of water to spit in, or a large bowl, or an old towel; protect your clothes with a bib or towel; protect dry lips with vaseline or lip balm; use a dedicated toothbrush if the purple color bothers you.; get kids to practice spitting out first, so they don't dribble everywhere. The packaging on this product is mixed - it does not seem to be "original", with a few sheets and a printed instruction card packaged together BUT it is better for shipping this way, without a box or other bulky packaging to throw away, and it gives you a chance to try the product for under $10 rather than "investing" in a huge pack.

Works great, with two caveats
Works great, with two caveats. It definitely leaves color in the sink, which is easy to get out of mine (an ancient enameled iron/steel thing from 1941). In the mouth, it works as advertised, but there's a fine line between not swishing enough, which leaves your whole mouth dyed, and swishing too much, which dulls the color on the plaque to the point it's hard to see. This isn't such a big deal, and is probably a good thing (the colors will wash out with your spit, instead of staying on your teeth for goodness knows how long). It's been really great for my seven year old, who is suddenly super motivated to get all the colors off his teeth. I'd recommend it, especially with the mirrors, so kids can see their molars.Oh, and the flavor is definitely some indeterminate, nondescript "Fruit." It doesn't taste bad, it just tastes "fruit."

Works
The product works great and showed my son everywhere he missed while brushing the first time. The only down fall, it’s messy in the sink but wipes up good.

Great item
Got for my 10 year old son. Works great, he has been spending more time on his teeth, and is doing great at identifying where he needs to focus more on brushing. He likes the little mirror that looks like the one the dentist uses too lol.

Not as effective as anticipated
The solution does turn your mouth blue. For this reason it met my expectations but I really thought it was going to cling specifically to plaque so I didn't give it the highest ranking. It just turns the whole mouth blue and makes you have to brush again.

I might recommend trying it once
The product works, but it's very difficult to remove it completely from your teeth, and difficult to wash the resulting dye from your toothbrush and sink. I might recommend trying it once, but you wouldn't want to make a habit out of it.
