With cooling fans like this, noise level is difficult to judge until you actually try the product. Everyone has a different tolerance for fan noise, and product descriptions or decibel ratings do not always tell you how it will sound in real use. In my case, this cooler provides enough cooling performance for my Gigabyte G5 (15.6in), and I can confidently say that the fan noise is within an acceptable range. I originally bought it because the laptop’s built-in fans were far too loud, and using this cooler has made the overall noise situation noticeably better. The blue LED lighting is not particularly useful to me during everyday use, but it does make it easy to confirm that the cooler is powered on. A much more subtle light would have been sufficient for my needs. Overall, this product was worth buying, and I am very satisfied with it.

I was looking for a cooling solution for my Asus AC3100 router and this did the trick. Generally, you don't need active cooling for a router. As long as a router is located in an open area where air can circulate, it'll be just fine. Most newer router CPU's are designed to operate at temperatures between 70-80 degrees Celsius and even slightly hotter with little trouble. The problem I had was that the interior room in which I keep my router is always warm. Even though I keep my router in the open, the ambient temperature of the room drove up the router's CPU temperature, which routinely hit more than 80 degrees Celsius during heavy use (gaming and streaming). That's something the computer nerd in me needed to fix. After see a bunch of fairly ugly hardware hacks, I figured a laptop cooling pad would work. This was inexpensive enough to try out and it did the job. The single, large fan more than covers the footprint of my router and feeds air into the vents on the router's underside. Within fifteen minutes of positioning the router and turning on the fan, the router's idle CPU temperature dropped almost 20 degrees Celsius. CPU temperature now hovers between 49-55 degrees Celsius even under heavy use. At full blast, the fan is fairly quiet. I'll notice slight noise if everything in the room is quiet from about 10 feet away, but it's certainly not overwhelming or disruptive. I've never operated the fan at less than full speed, but you can adjust it. Lowering fan speed all the way shuts the fan off. The unit runs off of USB power, but I have it plugged into its own outlet using a mobile phone adapter. It absolutely can be powered by my router via USB port, but I'd rather avoid the potential interference doing so may create. The LED lights can be shut off if they're not your thing. Note that the entire unit does have a somewhat large footprint and works best on hard, flat surfaces. As with all active cooling fans that suck in air from the bottom of a device, do not place the unit on carpet. That's just asking for trouble. If you have a router that runs a little too hot and your router also is ventilated on the bottom, this will do the trick. Inexpensive, well built, and quiet.

Wish I hadn't wasted my money. Barely moves any air at all. Speed control for fan is worthless. Either have it running or turn it off. Don't waste money putting in a speed control. NOT lap friendly. Very stabby bottom part. And remember that when it's on a table, it tilts your laptop. I have to prop up the front to level it. Next time I buy one, (that means when I have money to buy another one), I'm going to go to a physical store so I can actually see what I'm buying. Maybe I can sell this one for a couple of bucks at a garage sale. Worthless. I checked the cooling properties with my onboard app and it doesn't cool anything.

Nice and quiet as advertised. I have a System76 laptop that runs really hot and this cooling pad dropped the CPU temp by as much as 20F. Laptop does not slide off the pads. The only downside is the ridiculous USB-A connector: there's a protrusion on the *side* of the connector where the wire is attached. No laptop in the world will have room for that if there's anything else plugged in next to it. Fixed simply with an adapter.

I got this cooler for my Lenovo Y40 14 inch cos it’s battery had to be changed couple of times due to quick wear-out (thankfully I had 2yr extended warranty). Since the Y40 was coming to the end of warranty and usually battery wear has something to do with the heat, I bought this to keep in my office (I had another brand cooler for home too). In short: Pros: - Well built, especially for the price - Barely audible (if any) - Blue LEDs (although they’re hard to see when there’s a laptop on it) - Adjustable fan speed - LED on/off button Cons: - Maybe a bit small for any laptop over 15 inches Used it for some months now, so far so good, just working as it supposed to be. Only change I had to was adding a USB cable extension (since I was plugging it to my external monitor instead of the laptop itself. But if you plug it to the laptop cord length is more than enough). Since its only one large fan it is supposed to be quieter than ones with multiple small fans. TBH I’ve not noticed it working (and my office is not a noisy place either). Only concern I can think of is the size; although they advertise it “Compatible with 17" notebooks and below”, even my 14 inch Y40 is almost the size of the cooler. Anyway, I’ve moved to an Alienware 13 now and the cooler still fits and works fine. I’ve not done any extensive testing with measuring temps with and without, but will update if anything goes wrong. -Is good size for 13-15" laptop. 17" would overhand it on the sides but should still work. -Light has on/off switch and fan has speed control dial (turn all the way down to shut off). -On low speed it's so quiet you have to put your ear to it to hear it. High speed is like white noise. I have it at a med-low setting and it's very quiet. -Base is designed to stand on a flat desktop and won't work on a lap or a rug. -Item is very lightweight, but you'd probably want to save the box if you travel with it. It's not rugged enough to shove in a suitcase by itself. -It has a slant and there are flip out extenders in the back to increase the angle. Small, flat-bottom laptops could slide on it. I have no problem with a 13" MacBook Pro. If you need a desktop cooler for a small-med size laptop, this one is excellent.

I had to replace the Cooler Master NotePal U3 after two years of good experience. Its thin wire from the USB adapter to the fans cracked, shorting out the three fans less I wiggle it...tiring. The V20 has the same type wire but it exits the USB adapter at a satisfactory 45 degree angle, clearing a nearby additional USB port. Both USB adapters allow a second USB device plugged thru its outer end. The V20 has a large a single large fan whereas the NotePal U3 had three MOVEABLE fans that I placed directly below the 3 primary air intake of my laptop. Neither fan setups at full speed are noisy or distracting. Not scientific, but the air exiting my laptop seems cooler with the Thermaltake V20, the key reason for using a cooler. The V20 is smaller but supports a laptop almost 16.5" wide; but, not as well as the Cooler Master. It had a rear indentation that accommodated the rear mounted battery of my laptop, hooking it into place. If I place my laptop with its battery hanging off the rear of the V20, the keyboard is flatter but the rear weight bias lets the laptop tip off if not careful. I am deducing that rear battery elevates the laptop base enough to allow the center-concentrated air flow to spread out some. Good since the fan does not accommodate all the air slots of my laptop. The Cooler Master base is aluminum. The V20 is plastic. The rear curl of the U3 base allowed the edge of my laptop to slide into it when carrying both in a backpack, nicely secured. I would not expect the plastic V20 to travel as well! Both provide a fan speed variable control with the V20 adding an on/off as well. It is not needed (vary from off to full) and the monotone controls at left rear inconvenient with all the cables there. Bottom line, I am OK with the V20. I opted for a lower price and smaller size since I plan to replace my laptop soon with a tablet/laptop. The large single fan seems more effective than three moveable; only due to the slight elevation from my battery allowing the air to spread out. Both are quiet. The V20 blue light is not visible, thankfully.

Surprisingly enough, this is a great cooling alternative for laptops. I bought one on Saturday and received it within 3 days. Shipping was super fast, which is a bonus when it comes to ordering things online. The cooling pad itself works great. Granted, I've only had it for 2 days. The fan provides a significant amount of airflow around my laptop. I have an older HP laptop that I use for various tasks. Lately, it has been running quite hot and the exhaust air from the side of it has been quite hot lately. I had been using the laptop on a stand on top of a cookie sheet so it could get circulated air underneath, but that wasn't enough to keep it cooler. The pad works great. I had the laptop on it and running a program that usually makes the computer hot. The pad really kept it cool and provided great airflow. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who's searching for the right one. I think I paid $37 shipped, maybe less. It was totally worth it. I hope it lasts, too.

Öncesinde araştırdım, tek fan ses açısından çok iyi. En yüksek hızda bile sesi çok az. Soğutma derseniz tam soğutma diyemem; daha çok hava sirkülasyonunu hızlandırma gibi bir rol üstleniyor. Nispeten bir soğuma var ama sıcaklıkta biraz azalma gibi diyebilirim, öyle bilgisayar kapalıymış gibi bir serinlik beklemeyin. Dokunulmayacak kadar ısınan bölgeler dokunulabilir oluyor gibi.

On max power can be a bit loud(but they don't say that are silent eather.. they have really good CFM, which make the difference) but considerind that my laptop can get really loud when is getting hot you barelly hear it... Temperature difference of at leat 20°C after a long gaming session (from 68-75°C to 40-50°C) the usb connector has a USB exit you don;t lose an USB for it but in my case I can't use the audio exit so I use wireless. The only light control you have is on and off and hase a build in weight sensor too, when you remove the laptop it stops or if not positionated equaly on the cooler (cool extra feature). Really happy with the purchase (was send from USA in UK so a longer delivery time).

It's truly incredible how quiet it is and how much it actually helps with keeping your computer from overheating. However the reason I'd rate it 6/10 is because of the quality of the product. the cable is extremely cheaply made, the plastics itself on the entire product feel really cheap and it just doesn't feel like a premium product that you're paying for. Functionality wise, it's one of the best laptop coolers out there but quality wise, there's a ton of better options.

Cools well, but makes a rattleing noise. Not so quiet as expected.

Esta base enfriadora a diferencia del resto me gustó debido a que presenta una construcción solida, ademas de que la rejilla es metálica, a diferencia de muchas en el mercado que son de plástico. Como vivo en una zona bastante calurosa esta base enfriadora ayuda bastante para aumentar el flujo de aire frío y así expulsar el calor que se genera. El flujo de aire que expulsa la base es bastante considerable. Algo que debo mencionar es que también cuenta con un puerto usb para compensar el puerto que se ocupa para conectar la base a la máquina y también este dispositivo cuenta con una luz led de color azul que hace que se vea bastante bien el ventilador y adicionalmente, la inclinación de la base puede aumentarse girando las patas posteriores de la base aumentando así el espacio entre la superficie de la mesa y la base enfriadora permitiendo que una mayor masa de aire frío pueda fluir. Me encantó, si tuviera que comprarla sin duda la compraría, pero hasta el momento ni si quiera ha sufrido algún desperfecto, así que parece que por el momento no tendré que comprar otra.
