Masterpiece
Masterpiece by two of the most acclaimed poets since the 1950s. The best anthol I’ve read, only 1 poem per poet which allows for a tremendous variety of eras and intriguing perspectives - far wider than the approved establishment and court poets of English anthologies. In addition to poets in English, covers Scottish, Irish and Welsh, plus Old English – that Heaney and Hughes ensure are beautifully translated.

More lovely poetry but not as great as the Rattlebag
Lots to love in this collection and I liked the gradual sweeps of emotion in the organization but just not as good a collection for me. Too much long dour stuff - came over as all a little depressing.
