Shapes wood like nothing you've ever used before! (If you've never used a tool such as this) It moves material crazy fast and the holes let you see what you're doing as you're doing it. I've used a similar product, without the holes, and it worked great. But when I got this one and could see what I was doing as I was doing it, I was thoroughly happy. These types of tools can be quite dangerous, but being able to see your work further reduces the possibility of an accident. If you want to move wood fast and accurate, this is the tool for you. It will need some finish work, but the time saving is well worth what work is left after using this Holey Galahad! Bottom line: great tool for the money. Worked exactly as claimed. Tooth wear has been minimal which leads me to believe it will last for quite some time. I'd definitely buy another if this one ever wears out... unfortunately for the maker I'm not sure it ever will! Great product, fair price, and shipping was as expected (7-10 days.)

This only took 10 minutes. Pretty cool tool. I think they are highly priced compared to other grinder accessories which is the only 4 star portion. Knocks out wood very easy and smoothly. First little tester went like butter. Wouldn't lay it flat and would recommend using it at an angle softly to prevent the heavy pull on whatever surface you are working on.

I'm a rookie woodcarver and bought this to use on a maple slab. It fit my Ryobi angle grinder securely and removed wood quickly without "grabbing." It throws a LOT of coarse sawdust farther than you'd think. This was a good investment that works better than other cheaper knock-offs.

Very aggressive, easy to use after a little practice. I went with the medium and am glad I did. Anything coarser would be SUPER aggressive and a bit harder to control. After sculpting, the finish is pretty rough and needs quite a bit of sanding and rasp work if you are going for a smooth surface. Overall happy with the purchase, but not sure if the holes really help me in use. Have not used it enough to know if losing the material from the holes will hurt life, but so far so good.

Awesome tool. I make small tables out of log crosscuts. This tool makes short work out of smoothing and flattening the surfaces that are very rough from the chainsaw. Although I had to use 3 flat washers to provide clearance from the shield on my old Sears 4.5 grinder, the tool works fantastic. I use the coarse rounded disc and then follow up with progressively finer sanding discs. I recommend this tool for anyone that needs to do quick stock removal freehand. Best to use this outside with a dustmask and faceshield!

This thing is amazing! I was kind of hesitant at first because of the price tag but after just one use I felt it was totally worth it. These discs excel at removing material in rounded shapes where something like a belt, orbital, or sheet sander simply aren't up to the task. If you go slow you can get a fairly good rough finish. I used this on a hardwood project that would have taken many more hours of sanding than it did thanks to this. I made a basin out of southern red oak to symbolically wash my wife's feet in at our wedding and it came out incredible. The finish is a tung oil rub.

Why didn't I buy this sooner? There's nothing like free-hand shaping - no static machine, straight cuts, or jigs. It's a blast to dig into a piece of wood, and let the disc effortlessly pass through the fibers. This fine disc leaves a finish which will still require power sanding through all the grits to reach a flawless surface, but the possibilities are endless. Definitely recommend the entire line of Holey Galahad See Through Discs! Great quality, super sharp, and long lasting.

It is fast and very stable but very sharp. It makes extremely good cuts that are relatively smooth for its aggressive teeth. It also makes tremendous amounts of dust - I have resorted to a full face double filter respirator!

its OK but spend your money on flap disc and different grades you will get a lot more for your money. Its ok but to consider it cost me £120.00 it was toooooo much for what it does. Will not be buying any King Arthur tools again the prices are to much an I think they know it!!! think new carvers have to buy them, well dont. Profits must be outstanding.

First time user of this kind of tool and I found it to work amazingly well. Just be sure to work in a well ventilated area as it generates loads of dust, which was to be expected given the purpose of the tool.
