It works rather well.
This is a really good fume extractor. I solder PCB's almost every day, thankfully it provides good fume extraction when used close by. It's much better than one I made out of a few PC case fans. It has a powerful motor, it shatters the peace and calm, but it works. If you want to take extra caution wear a face mask with special filters at the same time (I do), this way you will be 100% covered and look like something out of a Tom Clancy novel. I am saying this because I decided to tin a whole PCB, I looked up and there smoke was everywhere. I thought it was all going into the extractor but obviously not. There is a limitation on how much this can handle, but sensible sized projects should be fine, Ideally you would want to put it near a window so the fumes are ventilated out of the back straight into our beautiful planet. But that is not always possible. Sometimes you find yourself in a converted wine seller freezing to death and opening windows is the last thing you want to do.It's noisy, but it really does work with Carbon filters and has some spare in the box.

Good bit of Kit
Good addition to my kit. When building brass locomotive models ones nose tends to be rather close to the soldering action and probably for far too I have breathed in the evaporating acid flux fumes. This extractor will help disperse these fumes.

Not as effective with larger soldering areas but fine for close in work
Not as effective with larger soldering areas but fine for close in work. Still needed a fan to keep the fumes at bay but it kept the smell down.

For the price it's impossible to argue!
For the price it's impossible to argue! Does the job and is fairly well constructed. Come with extra filter too.

Excellent value for the hobbyist
I have just started making my own stained glass and needed something to extract the fumes when soldering. This does the job really well as long as you position it close to where you are soldering. It's small enough not to be in the way and works very well. It's good it comes with spare filters too. Very pleased with how it works - great value.

Four Stars
Works well enough for the low price. Its definitely aimed at hobbyists rather than industrial/commercial environments though.

Just what I needed.
Does what it says on the tin. Spare filters included. Well but not excessively packed.

great extractor
I have been using this fan extractor for a couple of years now every time I want to do soldering, and can honestly say it does a great job of removing the fumes and moving them away from your working area. The air feels cleaner and the smoke also no longer gets in your eyes, when repairing guitar amps, building guitar pedals and hardware compressors, after long hours of soldering, this proved invaluable
