This is a very rudimentary camera that doesn't even have a rear camera for selfies. It does take clear pictures along with being a camcorder. I really regret buying it; don't make that mistake.

NO, the fill light must be turned on for night shooting. The photos in the night vision state are black and white, so this model is not equipped with night vision.
