I'm sorry Peter - I only bought the wax guards for my mums hearing aids - I don't know about the amplifiers. I can tell you however, that amplifiers generally amplify background noise more than speech and don't help most people. Good quality hearing aids have been the best investment my mum ever made. Hers are made by Starkey and they are rechargeable, so no batteries - they are brilliant!
