like I used to calibrate this item
My batch of beer has now over fermented due to the inaccurate reading given by this refractometer. My beer was 'stuck' at a bris reading of 7%, or specific gravity of 1.025, I needed my beer to get to 1.015 before kegging. I have just received a hydrometer, like I used to calibrate this item, it gave a reading of 1.012.I'm pretty annoyed as it over fermentation not only increases alcohol content, you can get off flavours too.

Don't use for wine!
Disappointed! Works perfectly for spirits and gives an accurate reading. Doesn't work for wine though. I tested 3 different shop bought wines and got hugely inaccurate readings.

Accurate and easy to use.
Spot on. Easy to use and appears accurate when measuring ‘reference’ products like shop-bought alcoholic drinks.
