Easy to install. I'm no handyman and I did it in a few minutes. Works as it should.

Easy to install and it operates perfectly
I followed the directions on the packet and this flapper fits and operates perfectly. I have a one-piece Toto elongated toilet and by following the setup instructions exactly (chain links and dial number) it works great. Probably took 5 minutes. I believe that for several years the OEM Toto flapper was not available so I bought non Toto part the last time I replaced the flapper. It was nice to discover that Amazon now carries the Toto brand part. While the product is great the delivery was not. Amazon has a problem with small packages such as this scheduled for delivery on a Sunday. With Prime they promised the Sunday delivery but the handoff to the USPS creates issues when USPS fails. USPS has a contract to make Sunday deliveries but twice in the last month the local USPS personnel were MIA and delivery failed. Lesson: depending you your local USPS, be aware when the Amazon item is scheduled for delivery. DO NOT order if the day falls on a Sunday. The item could end up in nowhere land for several days. Note: I paid full price for this item and received no compensation of any kind to write this review. I honor the review system and abhor any attempts to game the system.

Works like a charm
I hate it when a toilet decides to stop doing it job. It's not like I keep spare parts in the house just in case. Perhaps I should but in all these years it has never occurred to me to do that. And they never seem to stop working at, say, 2 o'clock on a tuesday when any local hardware store would be open and welcoming to you with their sage toilet repair advice. No, it always seems to happen after five on a weekend day. Such was the case when our Toto toilet flapper thingy broke free from the chain connected to the flash handle lever thingy. With no stores but a faraway home imorovement superstore open, I turned as I often do, to my friend amazon to see what flapper thingies I might find. And lookie what I found.... a kind of UNIVERSAL toto flapper thingy. I bought it and spent 2 days hand flushing the toilet until it arrived. It looked complicated and I began to break out into a cold sweat, cursing myself for buying this universal flapper when a specific flapper would be a more straightforward install. But I proceeded in spite of my mounting panic and I actually read the very few directions that came with it (there is also a video for those who might panic more than I did). Within five minutes I had a perfectly flushing toilet. This could not have been any easier and the very nice toto toilet people really covered everything thoroughly in very few words. I've been happily flushing away for the past week. I am now thinking that perhaps I SHOULD purchase another toto flapper thingy just to have a spare on hand. Surely if I purchase it now it will be less expensive than if I wait to purchase it when the current one fails in three or four years. It's something to consider BOTTOM LINE: Don't be afraid the way I was . This thing is a cinch to install and took only a few minutes. The directions look complicated but if you actually spend the 40 seconds it takes to read them you'll see how absolutely simple it is. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Good product, mediocre installation instructions.
FYI: some confusion. When ordering, you will need the flapper model number, which is on a sticker on the underside of the tank lid. The photos in this listing accurately show the original flapper colors and matching numbers. When you look at the photo of the back of the card, you will not find your flapper number, even though the title is the same as on the front of the card. Here's the difference: 1. The flapper number in on the lid of your tank. 2. The model number is stenciled on the inside wall of the tank itself. This number will match one of the model numbers on the back of the card. This is what you need in order to follow the quick version of the installation instructions Tips: 1.Before removing the old, original flapper, take notice of which lever hole has the chain attached. 2. After removing the old flapper, measure the length of its chain from top of flapper to lever hole. This measurement may not correspond with the recommended settings on the card, but will help in case you need to make adjustments. 3. Note the meaning of the asterisk beside some of the arrow setting numbers before you get your hands in the tank or have snapped the replacement onto its posts. Some buyers have broken off a snap fitting when trying to remove the new flapper in order to make adjustments. If the Toto directions were clearer and avoided wasting time trying to understand them, I would give a 5-star rating to this product. It comes from Georgia, so Toto/US should clearly state that 2 different model numbers are at play with this universal flapper.

I just did my usual inspection of the flapper and found the flat area to seal the drain was curved upwards but still keeping a seal, for now. I have a Toto Drake 2-piece and an eco-max one-piece toilet. After learning that this replacement is suitable for both my toilets which do take different model flappers, I ordered two. As this is a replacement for several of the Toto flappers, there are settings and instruction on the packaging for your specific model. For my Drake ST743S model toilet, the instructions and chain link number was correctly stated in the package. For my eco-max CST604CEF toilet the instruction stated to have 16 links but I had way too much slack and it actually took only 12 links still with 1/2 a link slack for a good seal. The hook on my previous chain was a bit wider and shorter than the new one supplied but the longer length still did not account for the length of 4 links. DO NOT go with the listed number of links required and cut any extra links off until you test fit it first. Seems to be a great product/replacement for the original flappers in my Toto toilets. Removing and installing the new flapper took less than 4 minutes.

This flapper replacement works perfectly, but it isn't a 'plug and play' replacement; it has to be dialed in to match your toilet: First, DO NOT destroy or dispose of the cardboard backing sheet that this replacement flapper comes with - it has important adjustment information on the back you'll need to make this flapper work with your particular toilet. You'll find the model number of your toilet printed inside of your toilet tank. You need to find your model number on the back of that cardboard backing sheet and adjust the flapper according to their instructions. It isn't difficult, but the job would be infinitely more difficult without following their instructions . My toilet still didn't flush as well as it did with the older flapper. Removing one more link from the chain fixed my problem entirely, now it's good as new. Don't let any of this stand in the way of your purchase - it works great once dialed in.
