A perfect artbook
A terrific achievement. And no text. Why? Because it's quite unnecessary. Marvelous.

Simply Beautiful
From the instant I opened the book, I was blown away. The quality of the reproduced pages is extremely high from realistic quality of the pencil marks down to the slight yellowing of the edges of the paper. The only thing missing is the musty smell of an old book, I keep expecting to find it. If that were there I’d swear I was looking at the original pages. It really does feel like an intimate thing to hold and peer into. For anyone who feels a connection to Anni Albers, you will love this book. For those who left a bad review, what did you expect? It is exactly what it says it is....it’s a reproduction of her notebook. It contains the images of the concepts she was working through from 1970-1980. If you want a great book with text, buy her book “On Weaving.”

And the printing - perfect..
Stunning! Bravo to the designer who chose to crop the pages with a bleed. No negative space!!!! And the printing - perfect... the pencil marks vary in value, showing her strong strokes as well as delicate shading. It looks and feels as if it is actually her sketchbook - even her simply scribbled notes garner premium space. I love it!

exactly as titled: an artist's notebook
Beautiful intricate surprising sketches. Reproduced so truthfully, you'd think you are holding the original graphite pencil sketches on old grey graph paper.

Five Stars
Exceeds expectations.

Disappointed
I should have read the description more carefully as this is not what I expected. I thought there would be some notes or observations. Still and interesting concept.

Maybe not a must-have for every weaver, but I'm glad I have it.
This book is a reproduction of geometric designs on quadrille paper taken from her personal notebooks of the period. I l refer to it when I want/need a warm-up exercise to planning a weave. So it's a sort of "workbook" for me. I like the direct simplicity and sense of this work, overall.

Not as expected.
Not as expected. Over hyped. Boring. Returned it.

Beautifully done
Beautifully produced — a facsimile that shows how she thought and worked.
