I just moved to a new room off campus which has its own sink on the 3rd floor. Well I hated the idea of running down 2 flights of stairs to make a cup of tea. Especially when the family I am living with does not have a microwave, so I have to use the gas stove. I just got this. And I love it.pros-The priceThe tempature gage on the lidHeats water very quickly (roughly 2 min to get the water to 160 degrees for my green tea)Auto off when you lift the kettleEasy on-off switchWide top, I can fit my hand in to clean it properlyPotential ConsYou cannot set it to a temperature and have it automatically turn off. You have to watch it. If you want an automatic off like that, get ready to spend over $50. (But seriously, it heats so quickly it's scarcely an inconvenience)Due to the design of the spout, you can't "hurry" this design. It's originally designed for pour-over coffee which is a delicate process. If you try to "hurry" our pour, you're going to get burned. Just, use common sense.As someone with a tight budget, who loves coffee and tea (and T), I love that I can micromanage the tempature of the water for my meticulous brew processes. Five stars from me, if it breaks in less than a year... well I'll knock it down one.

It is low capacity, it doe not keep the water hot after it is unplugged, and frankly, it is only good for making tea. Using this with a multi-cup pour over is contraindicated. By the time the water drips thru the first fill of the filter, the water is no longer hot enough for coffee, not even close. It is uninsulated. ON the other hand, one gets what one pays for. I am not returning it as a lesson to myself, cheaper is not not the same, another $20 would have gotten me a much better kettle.

I bought this for my pour over coffee making. I was wanted something without plastic. This simple steel kettle has really made this easy!Easy to read thermometer and auto shut off valve that illuminates a blue light when in use. I also like that I can hear it shut off as the valve clicks up.Just be careful as the metal is very hot, including the spout. Keep it from touching anything around it.

I wanted to keep this because it was reasonably priced. While it was not used, it was fine, but once water gets hot I'm guessing there are expansions and whatever that causes the pot to leak at the bottom where screws are.

it is perfect size for one or two people to drink, but the kettle mouth is too small... I have to wait longer time for the hot water comes out......basically, it is running very good

I love the simplicity. Well done. I recommend it to anybody else.

Great for making a cup of green tea.
