A Brilliant Book
In my view, this is Michael Crichton's best book, and I've read almost all of them. It's a gripping (and believable) story about an in-flight incident that holds the reader to the end. The only negative is that there's no Kindle edition though I've no idea why there isn't. There's no question it deserves five starts.

Worth a second read.
Read this book several years ago and enjoyed it from start to page turning finish. I then lent it to an aircraft engineer and he reckoned it was the most realistic book about the aviation industry he had ever read. The characters are well portrayed and when one of them is placed in danger you really do care that she gets out of it safely. As to the cause oft the incident which forms the central core of the story - clues are given as to what the root cause is but it still comes as a surprise at the end.Knowing how much I had enjoyed reading the book the first time around I purchased another copy so I could read it again - and I am sure I enjoyed the second reading just as much as the first,.

A good read.
A fairly intriguing story and had me very keen to read the next chapter to see what would happen. The whole book is building to a reveal at the end, which turns out to be a bit underwhelming and is over pretty quickly. Worth a read, but won't read again.

One of his best
I first read Michael Crichton when I was 18 and needed a new genre of books to read. This was not my first of his but most definitely my favourite! The story is so detailed and anyone who is interested in planes will find this enthralling. I always loved planes but this book really opened my eyes into things that happened behind the scenes that the lowly passenger does not get to see.If you like a good thriller and you aren't afraid of flying then give this book a read - you will not regret it.

One to talk about after reading...
A taut and exciting thriller. A great story and characterisations with thought provoking concepts. It also has a compelling element that will keep you awake reading longer than you intended, that's how good a read it was. Need I say more... other than, don't read the spoilers as that will reduce the tension of the story.

Welcome Aboard Transpacific 545! Buckle Up its going to GET VERY BUMPY!!!
AWESOME READ! The story follows Casey Singleton & her colleagues at Norton Aircraft, investigating a serious mid-air incident that occurred aboard their N22 airliner operating as Transpacific Flight 545. It is an extraordinary tale of suspense, mystery, corporate skullduggery, media deceit & sleuthing at its finest! I bought it for my holiday read but I've already finished it! 10/10

Unsatisfying: read something else
This is one of those books: readable, but like fast food: it's devoid of any real substance and leaves you feeling unsatisfied. If you're going on holiday, don't want anything too difficult to read, and have a mild interest in aviation then maybe give it a shot. Otherwise leave it alone: it's not very good. For a bit more detail: the writing is simplistic, the characters are obvious and uninspiring, the story limps, the conversations between characters are just unrealistic. I don't remember anything else about it.
