While researching vegan recipes, I discovered flax seed is also required in several recipes. For good reason no doubt...what a powerhouse! Who knew you could make flax eggs to use in place of eggs in recipes? Well, I didn't! When I learned I needed to go vegan, I thought I would die. I was already gluten free, soy free, and couldn't use Cassava flour or Millet...how was I going to be vegan as well? Hypothyroidism, along with other health issues threw me a curve and I just had to adjust. Ava Farms is making that a lot easier for me. The resealable packages make it easy to remove the amount you want to use and zip it back up, although, I use glass storage containers that I love and have in every size imaginable. These flax seed are great in all kinds of recipes, smoothies, overnight oatmeal, and all kinds of things. I will definitely be ordering them again.

I took a chance by ordering these whole golden flax seeds knowing there weren’t many reviews. I usually only order items on Amazon that have at least a hundred reviews. This item only has approx 20, but they are mostly positive. I figured I could return the unused portion, if worse came to worse.It only took a few days to receive the seeds and I opened the package the moment I got it. I scooped my usual tablespoon, tilted my head back, and poured the seeds into my open mouth. Yum!These are really good seeds. The texture is a bit chewier and more nutty than my usual. I typically buy from another vendor, but chose this new one due to the price being more affordable. I think I just may buy all future flax seed from this seller because I like the taste better.

I eat a fully plant based diet and use flax nearly daily in many different applications. This flax is fresh and tastes great. I like to use both golden and traditional brown flax in my meals. These seeds work great as a thickener or egg replacer too. I add a Tbsp of ground flax to my daily bowl of oatmeal. Speaking of ground flax, be aware that this is whole seed flax so for most applications you are going to want to grind it before use to get the maximum nutrition and effectiveness out of it. I actually prefer buying seeds whole then grinding myself as it keeps them fresher and more flavorful. Every week or two I'll add a cup of these to a blender and make my ground flax batch for the next couple weeks. This keeps the taste great but lets me keep a large amount on hand too, saving money. Speaking of which buying in bulk like this is a great value. I appreciate that they are certified organic.Long story short: yes these are 100% worth it and this will be my new go-to source for golden flax. Grind fresh!
