Arrived in good time and in good quality

I'm doing a navigation qualification and this was the brand and model recommended by the instructor. It's a great compass and I especially value the romer for different map scales (i.e 1:25K & 1:50K are both on the base plate). The lanyard also has lots of different scales and is a nice touch. Finally, the lines on the compass face are really helpful when finding your bearings (not all compasses have that). All in, I am very happy with my purchase.

Likes - Romer scales; large baseplate, adjustable declination, good grip on compass housing, good needle dampening; 3x silicone feet on the baseplate to help stop the compass from sliding across a map; baseplate markings are embossed so shouldn't wear out as quickly as on some other compasses Dislikes: - The declination adjustment tool is housed in the lanyard and is accessed by opening the housing. This breaks the lanyard loop. Since the housing is very easy to pull apart, the compass doesn't feel secure on the loop. I'll be using a different lanyard. - Because the degree markings (black) are on a dark orange housing, they're more difficult to read than they should be. A lighter coloured housing would be better. - The cardinals are marked in dark orange and are on an dark orange housing making them (almost) impossible to read.

Arrived on time, item was as described and also the picture of it, well made and useful navigation aid

Great for demanding route finding day or night with extra features that allow for night nav or tricky changes in terrain

Fantastic compass from Silva, exactly what I wanted for navigation in the hills, with all the appropriate romer scales that I need when map reading. My only real criticism, is that in one of the product photographs, it shows the compass at night with base of the bezel being lit up so as to show the luminous degree markings - I have not been able to replicate!

Buona qualità costruttiva. Ho ormai una discreta collezione di bussole, questa mi è sembrata subito affidabile e quando ruoti la ghiera apprezzi che è stata ben costruita. Lo specchio è il più grande che abbia visto in una bussola.

I’ve used many before for work and I really like this one. The declination adjustment is nice, you don’t even have to turn the compass over. I love the ruler on the lanyard, came with a slope card. This is the first Silva I’ve used, I’ve only had suunto before. I’m very happy with it

Delivery was prompt and packaging was adequate. The unit performs as expected.

Ein super Kartenkompass für die Arbeit auf der Karte der keine Wünsche offen lässt. Er hat drei Gummifüße für eine gut Haftung, eine Grateinteilung, eine Lupe, ein Makierungsloch, Planzeiger für 1:25k, 1:50k und 1:40k, eine cm Skala und eine inc Skala, nur die Himmlsrichtungen auf der Dosenumrandung könnte man mit schwarz nachfärben.
