Is it hot in here? Or is it just me?!
I purchased a Huron to heat a shop space. I've never been a fan of sheet metal woodstoves, but the Huron is a relatively handsome and very well built woodstove. It has a large and very clear viewing window, through which one can easily monitor the fire. It's lovely. Tons of heat radiates out of it. It's better than TV. I've used woodstoves for over 50 years. Yes, you have to pay attention when starting the Huron up. It may take up to an hour to reach full force, but once it's rolling, you just rake the coals forward and place wood on top, close it up and wait a little bit for it to flare up. With a little mindfulness, this is an easy stove to operate. The Huron has a gentle kind of heat, but I've never felt such a hot firebox when the stove door is opened - Holy Cow! Have long handled tools, heat resistant gloves, and sunglasses on hand! After reading the reviews, I was a little concerned about back drafting. It has not been an issue. I'm happy with the stove, and I think it's a good value at roughly 1/3 the cost of the least expensive cast iron stoves.

Excellent!
Very satisfied with this purchase! It’s a great deal for under 1k. This stove is efficient, keeps a burn all night and I love the large viewing window that adds to that cozy feel. Bought a blower separately.

Not fit for household use. Fire dies if door closed.
Extremely bad product. If you close the door the fire goes out. You can put a fan on the fresh air hose and blow air into the stove and it will still go out if the door is closed. There is a air control lever, which appears to do nothing. Been using wood stoves my entire life and never had anything as bad as the Huron.

I am enjoying the stove, it's meeting all of my expectations. I purchased the blower attachment and it makes a difference. This stove is keeping the room very warm.
