One of the best reverbs for the money
This is simply a great pedal. I have owned over 200 pedals in my semi-professional music career so I can be a little picky about what I put on my pedalboard. Of those over 200 pedals, I have around 10 on my board right now. This Alabs Cetus is one of them. I love reverb and have owned many different pedals from the RV6, the H9, Blackhole, Amplitube X-Space and many others, and this is one of my favorites. You're not going to get the in-depth variety or parameter control that you would get from an Eventide or the X-Space pedal, but for the price, you not only get a solid choice of reverb algorithms (room, hall, plate, shimmer, etc.) but you get GOOD-sounding reverbs. A lot of the reverb pedals I've used in the past that I've sold just did not have the tonal qualities that this pedal has. One of the main things I look for in a reverb is a smooth tail, in other words a decay that does not have a choppiness or "loop" sound to it, like a lot of cheaper pedals do. This is a genuine reverb pedal with a very smooth tail that trails off nicely. I can think of no major negatives with this pedal. I think it uses a little under 300ma, which is not terrible for a reverb pedal, but it is more than what you'd expect from something this size -- or from an analog pedal. And I guess the "wave" mode is probably my least favorite modes, but I don't dislike it. I just can't think of any way I'd use it -- yet, anyway. And I've heard people complain that the jacks are side-mounted instead of top, but really? How in the world are you fitting four jacks on top of a pedal this small? So, small sacrifice to make to have a stereo pedal that can fit in your pocket. All that said, I would definitely recommend this pedal. It's one of the better reverbs out there, and may be the best at this price point.

Unleashing Sonic Creativity with Exceptional Functionality and Unique Tones
After receiving the four ALABS pedals, I was pleasantly surprised after playing around with them for a couple of days. These pedals are exceptional tools that can significantly enhance your creativity in playing. They produce impressive ambient sounds and create a vast sonic space with a multitude of integrated effects, along with stereo functionality. With nine effects/pitch options on each pedal, the two-way switches provide added versatility for the freeze mode on reverb, whammy for pitch, tap rate setting for delay, and modulations (oh, those modulations are fantastic!). They also enable you to adjust various parameters, such as resonance, wave shapes, duty ratio, shift frequency, etc., for different effects on a selected two-way switch, other than modulation or tone control. The pedals can perform a myriad of functions beyond your imagination, and having a freeze effect on reverb in this price range is exceptionally rare—great value! Perhaps the best value you can find on the market. Exploring and taking advantage of these impressive functionalities will undoubtedly take some time, but it's a fun journey to acquaint yourself with them. The "infinity" or Explore Mode is a novel feature available on every pedal. It provides you with five seconds to memorize parameter changes for four knobs. You can easily recall them by holding the foot-switch in Explore Mode. Holding the footswitch and turning the two-way switch effortlessly clears the memory curves. The operation of this pedal is very intuitive, but it's essential not to just trust your instincts and plug them in without getting to know all the functionalities. There is much more than meets the eye. After a short learning curve, you'll find everything easy to control and adjust. The single LED can turn white, blue, yellow, purple, green, or red, indicating different functionalities for different settings. It allows you to hold the footswitch while powering up to turn the two-way switch and change between true bypass or buffer mode (you can decide which one suits you best depending on your signal flow). All pedals have a signature tone that you'll instantly recognize when you hear them. They produce spatial, high-tech, and psychedelic sounds. Beyond their luxurious functionalities, they can genuinely add more character to your playing.

Sounds really good for the price
It's a really nice reverb, nothing ground breaking but it really enhances everything you send through it quite noticeably. Using it in a Wet/Dry/Wet rig sending it directly to a Big Sky and it actually makes the big sky even more ambient which is a big compliment. The big sky still sounds amazing by itself but this just adds that littler nudge. To be fair I'm sure any quality reverb put before behind the big sky would do the same. All in all for the price it's really good, just wish it had the ability to save presets.

Best sounding delay I've tried
The delay algorithms of the TimeSlip sound amazing; high quality and natural sounding. The knobs on the pedal have a great sweep and all of the delays are useful. My only gripe is the save function: It saves overall sound presets and not settings per delay type. Also recalling the save settings is kind of ackward: you have to press the footswitch and move either the mix or the repeat knob. But regardless it is a great sounding pedal that, excluding the save function, is actually easy to dual in a great delay sound. And I guess is cool that it continues what I perceive as the new trend of making the led light unnecessarily bright😂

Absolute Empfehlung.

The Alabs Cetus is an Excellent Reverb pedal. NOT 'for the the money,' but compared to ANY reverb I've owned/used (over 30 years playing). Build/Use: I used a relatively cheap isolated power supply (500ma) and the Cetus produces NO UNWANTED NOISE. It's easy to use/manual easy to understand. Seems well made compared to the Strymon, Walrus Audio, Nordland, Coffee Shop, JHS, Peterson, TC Electronic, etc pedals it sits next to on my pedalboard. (And better made than a lot of mid to high priced brands I was disappointed with and returned or sold). It DOES NOT suck tone, or alter volume of dry signal (dry signal decreases past about 2 o'clock on mix knob to go fully wet if needed, eg, effects loop). Comes with a very nice pick, 4 stickers, little stick-on rubber base pad, and an easy to understand manual (printed on quality paper). Sound: The reverb tones are VERY impressive on every type/setting (I do keep modulation low or off on most - but up is great on the spring). The tones are the hi-fidelity type, not lo-fi. And sound very natural. The Plate, Spring, Hall, and Church are my favourites. I prefer normal/natural reverb sounds, so that affects my opinion. The Cetus does this very well, and then some. If you like really weird, artificial sounds, or reverbs that seem tacked on along-side your dry signal, this is not the reverb you are looking for. Cons: I don't really need freeze functions, and I would have preferred separate Pre-Delay and Modulation knobs rather than the little switch (Switch seems same quality as Strymon or Walrus Audio in feel/use, BTW). Also top mounted TRS stereo jacks would have been nice. Writing on pedal could have been a bit bigger, or used a more contrasting colour to help my knackered old eyes. Shiny knobs do reflect light a bit, but the look has grown on me. I can't comment yet on long term durability, obviously. Conclusion: Great sound, analogue dry-through, no tone suck, soft footswitch, true stereo, easy to use, well made, looks nice. Tone/effect quality and specific features (analogue dry-through, size) make this reverb pedal better than any other for my needs. And better than any reverb I've owned/tried at over 3 times the price. The Alabs Cetus Reverb is a 5 Star pedal, in ANY company, at ANY price point.
