A decent canister filter
I've bene pleasantly surprised with this filter. As others have mentioned, the placement of the filter media is slightly off and inadvisable but this is a relatively easy fix. I've been using it on an aquascaped aquarium and so far, so good.+ Noise - The filter is fairly quiet which is a major point for me given my tank is placed in a bedroom. This quietness means my sleep is undisturbed and I don't have to worry about loud vibrations etc. going through walls.+ Filter power - I've already had a look at the media since the filter has been installed and its definitely picking up detritus from the tank and fish poop etc. meaning my tank water is clear and I've had no major ammonia spikes or fluctuations in my water parameters.+ Size - The filter slots in nicely under my cabinet and the tubing isnt obtrusive or large enough to stand out though I'd've preferred a clear tubing over the green provided but this is purely cosmetic.+ Value - Canister filters can be notoriously pricey and though this one isnt the lowest costing, it does the job well and I'm happy to pay for functional equipment.Overall, an effective and functional canister filter that meets expectations and completes its task well. Happy customer.

Decent filter
Decent external filter with variable flow. Not the best quality out there but a very good product for the price.

Fishtank filter
Not bad for a starter filter pump. But found the hoses quite soft. And kink to easy.

Simple set up, needs the filters rethinking
This is my first experience with an external filter canister, I've use internal and HOB filters in the past. It was bigger than I expected, but not an issue as it's hidden away in the cabinet.Setup was easy, it comes with everything you need. As has been commented elsewhere the filter media is provided in 4 layers of varying gauge sponge but when it arrives the finest filter, which is also the carbon filter, is at the top. The draw of water is from the inlet at the top through the media to the outlet at the bottom, so it makes zero sense having the finest filter at the top - it should be decreasing coarseness as the water flows through until the final polishing filter.I'm not a fan of activated charcoal in my filters - there really isn't any need for it, and it leeches important chemicals from the water. The only time I ever use it is if I want to clear medications from the tank. So, I have removed the charcoal filter completely from my setup and added fine gauge filter wool to polish, and added bio media in the available space, which for me is a much more effective set up.The pump is quiet, hardly noticeable unless my cabinet is open, and the water flow is plenty for my 120L tank setup.

700liters per hour is a lot better
I had first bought the 700liters per hour version and it worked perfectly, it was quiet, and made the water clear, I thought that I’d buy the 1200 liter version for my bigger tank, what a mistake it has been, I set it up the same way, with the hose fitting as I did on the 700 liter version, but the pipes just fall out, and if I tighten them more then it pushes the pipe out, so far this filter has flooded my room twice, while also damaging the stand, when it was working it was good, I’m going to try use jubilee clips to hold the pipes in but I really shouldn’t have to considering the price of the product

An ideal intro to external filter cannisters
For our first venture into these external filters, this was a good choice.Yes, it does take a bit of getting used to, but overall there was enough help and info to get this up and running in a short time. My daughter, who is the fish expert, had a few concerns with the charcoal filter included, and she made a point of removing it. Now, I'm not sure why that is exactly but it didn't seem to throw the filter out of balance, so all is still good.Overall, a little costly, but as a first external filter cannister, so far so good.

good set to start with
The filter comes with pretty much everything you need to start, minus any additional media you would want to change or add.The inside of the canister has 2 grids on the very top and bottom and between that are 4 sponges. It's important to add that the black carbon sponge should not be used daily, only to remove medicine or clear water, otherwise it starts leeching whatever it absorbed a few days later.I also wish that it came with more grids so you could separate media better, but at the same time you can just use bags for that, the huge plus about canister filters is that they're highly customizable. The filter is very quiet, the only things that make a bit of noise is if the water level is too far from the outlet and if the pump touches any surface like the wall of a wooden stand cabinet but both of those are avoidable. The water tubes are large and allow for a fast water exchange though the filter, that said though, I don't believe this would be suitable for tanks as small as 30L as the listing suggests because the water flow would be too strong and there is also not a need for a filter almost as large as the aquarium.Overall it's a good product for a simple set up, a larger variety in sponge coarseness would be preferable as the green and blue sponges look identical to me but the other functions it performs, as well as the ability to customize it are huge pluses.

Efficient and quiet aquarium maintenance
I've been using this canister filter in my tropical aquarium, and it's made a noticeable difference. The filtration is powerful, keeping the water clean and clear. The setup was straightforward, and it operates quietly, which is a big plus. The sponges are effective at trapping impurities, maintaining a healthy environment for my fish. I appreciate the leak-proof design, which gives me peace of mind. The self-priming feature is convenient, saving me time during maintenance. It's a dependable choice for anyone looking to improve their aquarium's water quality.
