I have to wear compression socks due to ankle swelling. Normally I wear the knee high ones. However, I live in Arizona and we just had our first 100 degree day. I was looking for crew socks to give me the support I need and stay a bit cooler in the summer weather. I looked at so many and read so many reviews before I decided to give these a try. I am really pleased with them. I had worried that the top would be too tight and cut into my leg. I wore them all day with no problems! When I took them off before bed the swelling was barely noticeable and there were no painful marks where the top band was. I just ordered another set!

These Socks (PAPLUS Compression Running Sock for Men and Women) have good compression all around, better than any other I have tried.. I wear a size 11.5 extra wide shoe, but the XL size of these, which is the largest you can buy here, is much-much to tight.. By end of 4-5 mile walk my feet (from front of ankle to very front of toes) are killing me from being squashed so hard.. I mean really tight.. especially top of foot in my instep arch area.. If they made a 2XL or 3XL it would be great.. I can not wear these as is, so I think I will take sharp scissors and make a slit or cut (following a magic marker line) - with sock off my foot- parallel with my foot for 2-3 inches above my instep and hope it does not shred or ravel.. Worth a try.. I sure wish they made at least a 2XL size.. NOTE ! -- I would never try to modify sock with it on my foot other than only to make a line mark with colored magic marker showing where I want to cut the sock with it off my foot..

They are a little snug but I guess they are supposed to be.
