It doesn't matter why you want just *one* USB speaker...you just do. You don't need stereo. You don't need LEDs or RGB lights. You don't need a power button or volume knob. You don't need batteries, Bluetooth, or even a power adapter. You don't need an annoying loud aesthetic design made for a 12 year old with logos and patterns, you prefer a simple all black appearance. You don't want to spend a lot of cash. You just want a speaker that just connects to a USB port and works. This is it. I got this to be the voice of a home made voice assistant. I like that it's minimal, simple, and not too unlike the general size or shape of a typical smart speaker. I was worried it might sound "tinny", like a phone, or laptop speakers, but it actually has a decent range. I wouldn't call it bass, but it has enough deep midrange that it sounds pretty good. If you're an audiophile expecting to use it for loud music, you will surely have complaints, but if you want to put on some classical in the background it's quite capable. Voices sound great, youtube videos loud and clear. It can get quite loud without any distortion. It shows up as a stereo device, so you do get both channels of your audio merged into one mono signal. It has a reasonable weight to it, and a rubber pad on the bottom, so it will stay where you put it. The cable is unfortunately hard wired, but about 4-5ft in length, which is enough to offer reasonable flexibility. You can always use a USB extension or a USB hub. It's a USB Type-A connector, with a convenient Type-A to Type-C adapter attached. Don't want to keep that adapter dangling there at the end of your cable? You can cut it off, but the always available design is nice for flexibility. As soon as I got this and tested it, I ordered another one. Might order more. There's times when I need some audio but don't want to use headphones, and don't want to break out two speakers and a mess of extra wires, and find a plug that fits a weird AC adapter. I recorded a demo video with my phone and shared it here to give a vague idea of how it sounds, but bear in mid it's been recorded with a smartphone and is playing back on your output device, so it's really not a "perfect" demo obviously. But perhaps it will let you imagine how it would sound if you were actually there, or at least reassure you that it sounds pretty good. There was no post production fiddling with the sound in the video, or trickery of any kind.

Works well for a good price, I am using it as a desktop speaker for my laptop to attend meetings, and it is great for that purpose.

I am very impressed. My output jack is not working on my laptop so I needed to change to a USB output. This speaker installed a USB audio device into my Sounds. Now I can use a USB plug to play my music. Sounds pretty decent. I went into audio enhancements and added Base.

I bought three of these speakers for the computers in my department at work, and they sound great! Plus, they don't take up a lot of space! I highly recommend these speakers, and I'll definitely buy them again!
