The Spellshop

Loved this book! Well written, enough whimsy and magic to keep anyone entertained, and characters you want to be friends with. Looking forward to reading more.

I mostly read fantasy novels, though sometimes they can be a bit much for a casual read (5 books in a series, very intricate magic systems - you get it). But i don‘t want to ä read just any book, i still want to be immersed in a vivid world and the characters. This is precisely where The Spellshop comes in. It is a very cozy read on the lighter side, but never flat or boring. There are some twists in the story and it has a lot of heart. The world is colorful and nicely fleshed out, without having to look at a map every 5 seconds, and the characters evoked strong feelings in me while reading. (May that be positive or negative ones). You can definitely tell this was written by someone who loves a cozy evening with a book, cuddled in a pile of blankets while sipping a hot cup of tea, because this is exactly what reading The Spellshop feels like. I can‘t wait for The Enchanted Greenhouse, which is not a sequel, but will play in the same world.

I really enjoyed this novel and all the magic and amazing things in the world. There was a lot I didn;t expect, but was pleasantly surprised by. It was a great story and I really can't wait for the second book. Caz is by far one of the best characters. He is full of spunk and sarcasm that is absolutely amazing and hilarious. Also, the way I was able to connect to the main character made this a shockingly enjoyable read.

Lovely reading, perfect to give you sweet dreams of cinnamon rolls... What I appreciate especially is, the author's talent in describing situations, feelings, by using just the right amount of dialogue. Great job Sarah! When reading, I like to be guided, while using my own imagination. Many modern authors use too much dialogue, which gets boring on the long run, as it leaves no room for your own imagination. With this book, your imagination breaks out into a true firework, guided by her colorful writing!
