I would have given this five stars, but apparently its a do it yourself kit...the waist strap is cut to length for a man who weighs 400+ lbs. It is adjustable down to fit someone who is 275lbs. Fortunately I have some leather punches in my sewing kit to fix this. All in all, the holster itself is well made and looks great, but it should be fitted much better. If its a WWII reproduction, it should be made to fit WWII soldiers and Marines-LEAN and mean.

As I know this holster was designed for the 1911 frame it also fits my short barrel (Old West/single action) revolver. It is made of top-quality leather and craftsmanship I myself am a leather worker and I'm very impressed. Also as you can tell I'm a heavy-set guy so it definitely fits big guys. I plan to buy again from this company.

I am 6'1", 275 and round. I wear a size 54 coat. There is plenty of adjustment range available with this holster! It is very high quality, very simple in design and smells great! The snaps and fittings were my biggest concern. No problem! They are all metal, heavy construction and there is nothing plastic on this holster! The holster is out of stock but when they are available again, I'll order another one! The pistol stays in position very well and I do not need the belt tie down so I leave the tie down hanging loose. I carry a Glock 17 or Glock 22 in the holster. In Texas, I can open carry with this shoulder holster or cover it with a leather vest or jacket for concealed carry. I use vest "snap extenders" so the vest is open in the front and has a loose/cooler fit. The holster straps show in the front of my vest, but that is not restricted under our laws.

Just a few comments not yet made in previous reviews: Holster also fits small guys like me. I secured the excess leather straps with sewing thread (didn't want to cut them off). Don't use monofilament fishing line as I did initially (the tied ends feel like needles). Carrying a Smith & Wesson 459 was OK, but I needed a counterweight because the 459 is a bit heavy. Attached a (fully loaded) quad 9mm magazine pouch around the right side of belt and everything balanced perfectly. The holster worked even better with a Glock 34 (gun intended for holster). Now I can carry a handgun comfortably around my house.

A very fine holster, especially for the price. It's worth noting that it comes in the package sized for the largest person possible, and that's quite large! You can reduce the size of the straps by adjusting not just the outer punch, but also shifting the entire buckle further up the belt (examine the buckle and you'll figure it out, the whole buckle can be removed). I'm not sure how small a chest it could fit, but probably not less than 30 inches.A print-out of instructions with some diagrams on how to adjust the straps would go a long way towards making it easier to understand.Once sized properly, it's quite comfortable. For the quality of the craftsmanship, especially compared against other leather holsters, this was a steal of a deal.

Excellent high quality and plenty of adjustment to fit small to large folks! Fits my 1911 .45 perfectly and is extremely comfortable. Can be used with or without the horizontal side strap. A great value too! I also like the fact that, unlike some other tanker holster designs that I have tried, the butt strap does not press the 1911 grip safety down, so you can carry cocked and locked with all safeties operating.

i haven't had the opportunity to hike with it (legally in states with concealed or open carry of course) but it fits a 5" 1911 perfectly, maybe slightly snug at first but that is to be expected. the leather is soft and supple and looks great. i haven't had any issues with hardware yet but like i said i haven't really put it to any hard use yet.

comfortable to wear. solidly made. recommend it for a 1911 or Barrette 92 or any similar I would think. not having an original to compare it with all I can use are old pictures and it seems to be very similar.the buckles just push on and are hard to push on so I enlarged the hole I wanted to use slightly with a think pointed knife and it went easier but you want it snug anyway. I'd recommend this I feel the price is good for the quality
