YakAttack Omega Pro Rod Holder - Secure & Adjustable LockNLoad System

I have been using this on my Kayak. I have a Hobie pro angler 14, I’m using a mighty mount duo on the H RAIL. This produc attaches to a gear track using a T Bolt (which is supported by the mighty mount duo to an H Rail.) I have caught large Lake Erie wallet, medium sized catfish along with a number of other smaller fish. The omega pro rod holders are a versatile, and valuable way to go. They are modular in their positioning, and extremely sturdy. I do not worry about loosing a rod. I have been trolling at 2+mph when a walleye took the rod down, and the omega pro held tight. I highly recommend this product for any kayak angler.

This is pricey, but is better than the competition. I bought it for a 10' Hobie Kayak and it's narrow, so the ability to extend the rods out and away from the kayak is useful. It's not a long reach, but enough to get the reels out of the working area. The other nice thing is that the elevation is adjusted in smaller incremements than the Scotty rod holders and it's spring loaded so you can keep them just loose enough to move them if you want to. The indents are also such that you can lay a fly reel over on its side and it will keep it from slipping forward if a fish grabs it whereas the Scotty and other brands I've tried won't. The only things I don't like are that the front opening isn't wide enough. A fat fly reel cork won't easily slide through it so I actually have to either force it through or end up bringing the rod backwards so the narrowest end of the cork comes out. That's not necessarily a deal killer as that also adds a level of protection against losing your rod. The other thing is that the complicated mechanism to release the lock sometimes sticks and it's trickier than I'd like to get it to spin and then reseat. I've also had troubles getting it off. I do feel like I'm not going to accidentally lose it, but the mechanism still needs improvement so that it's smooth. I often times squeeze it to turn it and it won't turn until I fiddle with it more, and when I squeeze the lever underneath to open the mechanism to remove it, it won't come off until I fiddle with it. It's nice you can theoretically do it one-handed whereas the Scotty needs one hand to twist, the other hand to lift & turn. I now wish I could return my Scotty rod holder and pay the difference for two of these YakAttacks.

Okie dokie, this is an excellent rod holder- hands down the best attachment to the kayak track rails of any rod holder I've found. First, the way this secures to the kayak track rails is amazing and makes it super easy to install. You depress a clip and the top portion slips off of the base. The base slips onto the track and you tighten it down. Then slip the top portion back onto the base and it clips into place- super easy and super secure. It won't come off unless you press the clips and pull it off. To adjust the direction, you depress the clip and turn the top to position it. The top portion never comes off the base. When you let go of the clip it remains in place. It has two adjustable knobs on the riser that allow you to adjust the height and position of the rod holder. Just loosen the knobs and adjust, then tighten to secure- easy. It has a mounting point to add a rod leash to teather the rod and reel so you wont lose it if you tip over. I always try to make all of my adjustments before I launch the kayak, but I found this holder very easy to make adjustments while on the water. Overall it is an excellent rod holder.

Very sturdy yet light. I like the adjustability, how easy it is to install on my track system, and how well it holds my fishing rods. (I’ve used it on spinning reels and baitcasters).

Fit on my Old Town 106 pdl tracks. Pops on and off with a flip of the switch. Haven’t been out on the water with it yet but I’m sure it will work great.

Very nice rod holder, nit overly bulky like most. Very adjustable to fit your needs. You just can’t go wrong with yakattack! Did I mention it wasn’t overly expensive.

I was usually buying Brocraft products and they are NOT made as well or as strong or as durable as Yakattack. This is a much better rod holder than Brocraft junk.

They work very nice good. I really like how easy they're to move in all directions to give room while pedaling trolling My kayak rod handles stayed up the way.
