Easy replacement seems brighter
First, let me tell you the last replacement bulb I had from another brand lasted about 4 years until it blew up, it exploded not just burned out, it made a loud pop that startled everyone. When I opened it the glass was in pieces all over the insides of the protector (thick glass too), had to remove the case and clean up the insides of all the pieces of glass, not pretty. I ordered this one as a replacement and it dropped right in, fortunately, nothing was permanently damaged and it fired right up, it seems brighter than the previous but might be because its new, left it on for a day to "burn" in and worked fine, has been working great since only time will tell how long it will last. I will update review if it fails prematurely but should last a few years and save me some cash.

Pleasantly surprised
I didn't realize how dim my original bulb was. When it finally died and I put this bulb in, it seemed like a new projector. If anything too my eyes the projector seems too bright now.

Good replacement lamp
This has been a great lamp. I’ve had it going everyday for the last 3 months or so

Quite bright
We swapped out the globe in the picture with this one. The globe that we had was at 1605 hrs and still bright. So we swapped it out at less than 50% of its service life to test this globe. We'll be keeping it as the spare now.The original had a Philips UHT globe fitted as can be seen in the picture. That is the original OEM spec globe. This one is an "unknown" brand. So I can't say how long it will last, but it is quite a bit brighter than the Philips @ 1600hrs. I put the projector in power saving mode with the new globe and it was similar to, maybe a little brighter than the old one on high.So I have no doubt it is brighter than the Philips version, but not sure how it compares in longevity. That is something only time will tell. Given it will take 4 years to clock up 1600hrs in our household, that's a long time to wait.Fitting the globe was easy. It is exactly the same as the original housing and follows the same replacement procedure. It only takes a few minutes to complete if the projector is on a desk and you know how to use a Philips screwdriver. We are very happy with the globe but I'll stress, it is new, it is an unknown source. I will use it as our globe until it needs replacement. I'll post back here when that happens. See you in about 4 years or so!

Good fit, tests about the same brightness as my 1800 hr OEM bulb
First off, this is a fit and function review, not a long term use review. I don't draw any conclusions about lifespan and performance. My current OWM bulb has 1800 hours and I'm going to keep using it until it goes. But I did go ahead and install this bulb to make sure it actually works so I could return it if needed. So this review is simply on the fit/finish and initial performance. So first off, just comparing visually the bulb enclosure looks to be similar quality as the OEM enclosure. The bulb looks ok and seems to be well fitted and tight in the enclosure. Giving it a little shake didn't indicate any loose bits or rattles in general (I've had this with other aftermarket bulbs). The electrical connection on the bulb looks well sealed. The unit slipped right in and installation was easy.I had recently done some color calibrations on my projector and had the brightness numbers from the OEM bulb (using Calibrite colorchecker). My OEM bulb has 1800 hours and the measured brightness for this bulb seems to test the same. There is some variation in testing method as I used a selfie stick and not a tripod but overall I feel pretty confident in the measurement. So while maybe not the brightest bulb I've even seen it was more than adequate.Playing 10 minutes to a movie, the bulb performance seemed fine and I didn't notice any issues during that short test. After that I swapped back to the OEM bulb and put this one away for emergencies. So overall, I give it 4 stars. I think that the brightness could have been a little better for a brand new bulb but still acceptable. Worth keeping in the spare parts box as a backup bulb.
