Great tent
After reviewing many tents, I chose this one for these reasons: 1. large area of shade for our large group, 2. lightweight to carry, 3. small to transport, 4. not dependent on wind to work, 5. price, 6. ease of assembly. It did not disappoint on #1, 2, 3, 4. It was not large enough for 19 people, but it provided an option large enough for those who wanted shade. I could have assembled it myself with one exception. The wind was powerful and I (age 70 and 5'1") was not strong enough to dig the poles securely enough into the sand to withstand the wind. My sons angled the poles against the wind and were able to dig them deep enough to be secure for several hours. After hours of strong wind, they had to be adjusted. The shovels were very helpful in filling the bags. When the tent was set up, the shovels were favorites for the kids building sand castles. The sand shook off the fabric easily when we packed it up to leave. When I got home, I threw the tent into the washer and dried it for 20 minutes then hung it up to finish drying. I don't know if the manufacturer recommends that, so check before doing so, but it worked for me. The legs of the tent knotted up badly in the washer and dryer, but I was able to separate them without too much difficulty. Now that it's clean, I'm not worried about it smelling after sitting in its bag until the next beach trip. If your criteria match mine, I recommend this tent.

A necessary addition to beach days
I've been scoping out different types of sun shelters for years and purchased a different type several years ago that was ultimately disappointing. On a recent beach day I noticed a few shelters like this but was doubtful they would remain standing throughout the breezy day. To my surprise, while another tent-like structure collapsed and an umbrella took off, swirling through the air over beachgoers like something out of The Wizard of Oz, this one remained standing. We have now used this sun shade about 7 times over the last several weeks. It is so easy to set up, easily less than five minutes even to fill all eight of the sandbags, and while I can see the doubts in my beach-neighbors' eyes, we have never had an issue with it even on windier days. We can easily fit our entire group, their chairs/towels, and coolers in the shade with room to spare. And tear down is quick. It comes with a backpack style carrying case which is nice for transporting it over sand dunes and down to the beach. And it's a pretty shade of blue. The only "con" that I've found is that you need to make sure the material is pulled quite taut, even tighter than you expect, otherwise it will sag low in the middle. This just gets easier with practice.

Excellent & Easy to set up
This is an EXCELLENT product. Insanely easy to use at the beach. Once we figured out how to do it (a couple minutes), it only took 5 total minutes for one person to set up. It literally took about 6 minutes to take it apart and put it back in the really nice bag. Really liked the bag too as there was plenty of room to fit everything back into the bag (we rolled it up and put the supplies back in). Worked great. Would definitely recommend as the value for the money is just right. The stability was great except when the storm started coming in.

Applicable for sand only but worked well
Pros: Surprisingly easy set up even for 1 person. Durable, protective, and stretchy. Created a nice shady space for 3 adults, 3 kids, and a dog.Cons: 1) Not great in high winds, even with frequent adjustments and burying the pockets. 2) Comes with corkscrew stakes but no way to attach them and no instructions on their use. 3) I'm annoyed this was advertised as working well on land and sand when its clearly only for sand.

Compact, easy to setup, good size, good price
We bought this beach sun shade/tent for a family vacation to Florida.I really like that it's very small and light when packed away and easy to set up.The beach was pretty dang windy for the week we were there, which may or may not have been due to Hurrican Beryl which was pounding our home in Houston while we were gone. LolEven in windy conditions, I had absolutely no problems setting it up by myself, and once up, it stayed in place with the gusting winds. It's a fairly straightforward setup. If it is windy, definitely follow the instructions and dig pits for the weight bags to sit in. I saw another person with one similar to ours who didn't dig the pits (which adds maybe 5 minutes to the setup at most), and their bags drug across the sand causing them issues. One great thing about this model compared to the competitors is that this one has 8 weighted attached bags which definitely makes it more stable. If we had purchased one with just 4 bags, I would have had problems due to the gusty wind. The height and coverage area are great, and it's a solid product. At first, I was a little disappointed the 2 included shovels were plastic, but then I realized they don't have to be heavy duty, and I actually prefer them to be light weight in terms of being carried around. It was so nice to have on the beach, and I'm sure we'll get plenty of use out of it.If you're planning a beach vacation somewhere, I highly recommend this.
