About 14" long and 4" square. This will hold a one and a half pound loaf of bread (approx. 3 cups of flour). You can make a 2 pound loaf in it, but it will be quite dense--good for some breads. Just don't proof ("raise") your bread too much or it will squirt out the pan or even blow the lid off. Sorry for the long winded response, but just a tip: To proof your bread, put a pan of hot tap water (NOT NOT NOT boiling) in the bottom of an ice chest, place a cooling rack over that and put your bread on top of that. In 20 minutes or so, your loaf will be ready to bake.

Yes, it does have a cover, but it must be purchased separately. I love to make pullman loaves of bread. I have this pan in two sizes so that I can make small loaves for me and larger ones for guests.

Is this a goo pan to cook banana bread in?

I have not made banana bread in it, but it is great for a large loaf of bread to slice and use for sandwiches. It is a very heavy pan and bakes wonderfully.
