So much fun to put together, but one set was missing a crucial piece!
These tank sets are awesome. They come together very nice. There are some unique pieces that other big brands typically wouldn't use, so that is fun to see those. The scale and detail are great. I like that they each come with two little army men and a score of fire arms. They each took over an hour to build for me (an adult) and would probably take a child a little longer. The one bummer for me was that I was missing one crucial piece for one tank that helps hold the turret in place and allows it to swivel. There was a similar piece that wasn't quite right, so I'm not sure if it was just a simple switch or not. I'll have to look and see if I can find another way to attach it.Other than that issue, these were fun sets to build that I will probably take apart and build again in the future.Would totally recommend these sets.

Issue of historical accuracy?
These are sold as WWII era tanks. I only got this for the Sherman. While true that the M4A Sherman is a WWII tank, I don't believe the decals nor paint job are historically accurate. The Sherman was an American tank. AFAIK, the deck should be olive green with a 5 point American star. This grey color and Star of David refers to the Israeli modification, in service during the 50s.That being said, I'm quite impressed by the build. I've had to create a sculpture of a Sherman and study its proportions. I also had a model and this build is a pretty creative reflection of the Sherman tank. Overall, pretty cool build. My caveat is that, as with any of brand brick, pieces may be ill-fitting, warped, broken or missing. In this case, the machine gun barrel of the turret easily broke. I've contacted customer service to rectify the issue. We'll see how support goes.

standard pieces typical alt-brick quality, some decals to put on. pretty simple design
PIECES are standard size. I had no prohibitive issues with the piece quality but the pins used to hold the wheels in have pretty much no fiction and wheels could easily come out. Now once the tracks were installed their combined tension held good enough to finish and display.INSTRUCTIONS are kinda the typical alt-brick instructions, they're printed at reduced scale and the lay gets crowded at points but its all clear enough to follow. I deviated from the steps when it came to building the turret area because the track base is quite hollow and didn't respond well toBAGS are just split between the two tanks, no phased assembly numbering.DECALS are not pre-applied, most of them go on fine and the instructions have you applying them to pieces along the build. There are horizontal decals for the track guards that go on lengths of sloped brick. Do yourself a favor, build those sloped bricks and apply the decals then install them to the model otherwise its just a pain getting them aligned correctly trying to do it while holding the half built tank on its side.DESIGN is pretty generic for this scale of tank and with the low piece count I knew that would mean the body would be hollow - sure enough it was. It's just stable enough to support the downward pressure needed to build the turret on top of it but just barley. I took two track sections out so it would be as tight a possible. It just barely fits, looks great, but is now too tight to move which I don't mind because its a display piece.

Brick built tank models
Generic product packaging pretty much make this thing tough to gift; nothing on the packing indicates what is inside. The huge bonus is the included mini figures that were included; it was a surprise for me. The bricks and figures appear to be of good quality and compatible with LEGO brand. The figure accessories will need to be separated from the plastic molding so have your hobby knife ready. Overall, this is a pretty nice set and I could recommend it, just not as a gift.

Very difficult build
This kit comes with two different tanks with a lot of pieces. The bricks are normal sized and it does come with instructions. However, I would set this on a difficulty scale of 10 due to the fact that they use very odd plastic model style building methods that are much harder to do than normal brick "clutch-and-slot" methods. It also have a lot of pieces on a tree that must be removed and sanded so they fit together. I think they are okay sets for a challenge but they could do more to make it better, in my opinion.

Great Final Result, Difficult Path
One set was missing a piece so we could not assemble it. The other set was very difficult to assemble. The pieces did not always stay together. Spent a lot of time putting pieces back together. The instructions are not easy to follow. When completed, the set looks cool.

Tanker Time!
There were a couple minor irritations with this set, but I think it's still a 5 star value for the price.I'll start with what I liked:The models look great. Suitable for display with no caveats. There were no missing pieces (very important), and piece fitment was good.TWO sets of 528 and 656 pieces for $30 total (at the time of review) is an excellent deal. That's about twice as many pieces as a pair of on-sale alternative brand speed champions sets for the same price, and tanks are WAY cooler than cars.Comes with 4 minis and a small arsenal of weaponry for them to use.Neutral about:The tank treads aren't lego compatible type pieces, but something custom. Honestly it's probably better that way because the two lego chain types would be too big or too small for the scale of these models. The treads look a little more suitable for tanks than lego-type treads but don't move smoothly so it's a tradeoff. The Tiger (the tan one) rolls OK on carpet. What I didn't like:Outer box had no artwork, kids won't get excited from the box.The instructions don't need words, but there are quite a few anyway. Alas, they're all in Chinese. Some of the decals cover multiple pieces, making it unsuitable for disassembly. The Sherman tank (the grey one) is slightly fragile and the tracks bind up and don't roll. The minis cannot ride in the tanks - hatches are decals only not functional.

Nice set and fun to put together.
Everything fit as it should and both display really well. Packaging left a little to be desired though. Pretty plane box, all pieces in zip lock bags, and just the directions. But you aren't really getting these for the packaging but if it's a gift it's a slight let down.
