This works perfectly for my Garmin Nuvi that I use in the RV. I was putting the Nuvi on the dash, but it would slide around, even with the weighted base. Now this is mounted at eye level, so it is more secure and also has better visibility. The 20.00 price is reasonable.

The clip does appear to be strong and lined with a soft foam so it doesn't damage surfaces. It has two adjustment points, which can limit where it can be mounted depending on vehicle.Rated 4 stars due to limited mounting locations and because there are only two adjustable points. Want GPS accessible and visible, but not in the way of other controls and line of sight while driving. Did not want to mount on rear view mirror (legally you shouldn't, would cover part of mirror) or sun visor (wouldn't be able to use sun visor). Mounted on dash behind steering wheel and there was limited adjustments I could make to get the GPS to sit low enough so it was not sticking up above my dashboard. Upgrading from my current GPS mount that slides into air vents but always slips and falls off. Clamp held strong during the test drive.

The description of this product offers two installation options. Installed on a 2019 Tacoma. First I tried mounting it on the dashboard directly in front of me. It doesn't seem secure when mounted this way. Feels like it could fall into your lap if you hit a good bump. Also, it restricts the visibility looking ahead while driving. And there is no way to secure the power cord. I then tried the rear view mirror installation option. I had to move the mirror in order to install it, It is a tight fit. Then I had to readjust the mirror back to it's original position. Once installed I lost a lot of visibility from the mirror. In my opinion the window suction mount works better... Other people like this mount, I'm just not a fan.

This device is much more helpful than I thought, although not for the reasons we advertise. As a mount on the review mirror, I find it too distracting. It covers up the good fortune of the mirror, risking safety and your ability to see things behind your car because it's such a large and wide clip. You can clip it anywhere, so for my Tesla, clip it on the door that covers the phone charger, allowing me to have my phone right where my hand is when it's resting on the armrest. So I can tap, read, and do other things without moving my arm, which is a huge benefit overall; this is a pretty good device, but just make sure you put it in a safe and valuable place.

It should hold firmly to the right surface.Unfortunately for me, my rearview mirror is very thick and it was impossible to open this clamp enough to get it onto the mirror.With the right mirror or surface to grip to, I'm sure this mount would attach securely. The articulating arm is very adjustable and can be locked in place once perfectly positioned.The 17mm ball mount is sized well and holds firmly.The unit is well built and should have great durability.Overall this is a great, well built mount that grips some surfaces and doesn't work on others. If it works in your vehicle you will be very happy with the mount. For me, I just couldn't get it to work in my Dodge Durango.
