"You are my sister. You're supposed to drive me crazy." Twenty-eight-year-old organization freak Valerie Tyler loves her 16-year-old sister Holly. Even if Holly is rambunctious. Spontaneous. Impulsive. Disconcerting. And definitely disorganized. Then Holly moves in with Val, and the sisters discover they may make better siblings than roomies. Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth star as the Tylers and Simon Rex and Wesley Jonathan star as two of the men in their lives in this bright, giddy comedy set in Manhattan - and in the hearts of sisters everywhere. Pop some corn and plop on your fuzzy slippers for all 22 Season One Episodes, plus funtastic bonuses. Romance, laughs, family: That's What I Like About You.

Fun WB sitcom
"What I Like About You" is a cute WB sitcom about two sisters living together in New York. Jennie Garth of "90210" plays the older sister Val, who is a bit of a neurotic and the parental figure in her teenage sister, Holly's life. The two other regulars in the first season are Val's goofy boyfriend, Jeff, who runs a restaurant and Holly's best friend, Gary. The storylines revolve around Val's love life and her job at an advertisement agency and Holly's tendency to get into trouble due to her spontaneous nature. In subsequent seasons, new characters are added to the show and the humor gets a little nuttier. Season 2, 3 and 4 are very different from this first season, but in a good way. The show only gets better and better. It may not have been a breakthrough sitcom or particularly original, but I always found "What I Like About You" to be a fun, enjoyable show and definitely one of the best sitcoms ever on The WB. It kept me coming back for all four seasons with the sisters' romantic relationships, the lighthearted fun and the occasional cliffhangers.

Inspired comedy - but what happened to the theme song?
At last - the DVD of season one of the freshest, best cast, best written comedy in decades. Don't worry about the laugh track, it isn't needed; this show is truly hilarious, and you will find yourself laughing out loud, even if you've seen the episodes over and over and are watching them all alone. And the main characters play off one another so perfectly! Especially Amanda Bynes, Jennie Garth, Leslie Grossman (especially hilarious,) and Wesley Jonathan, all of which have true comedic flair and timing. Amanda Bynes is a real find. Hopefully she will have many long years of films and television ahead of her. My only complaint about the DVDs is the loss of the original theme song - the first season's version, with the monotone base guitar underscoring the melody, perfectly fit the mood of the show. It was a wonderful lead-in. Replacing it with the current hum-drum theme on the DVDs is inexplicably bone-headed. (If you want the original theme song, tape it off the television while you still can!) This is one of the rarest things in Hollywood: a truly funny and witty comedy that never insults the intelligence of the audience.

Hard to say
I love this show and really wanted in on DVD. The seller provided the discs in-tack and no scratches however the last 2 or 3 episodes on each disc wont play. So I did some research and learned about disc rot which basically means that once discs get so old they can break down internally due to the material they are made of. So not really the sellers fault but it still sucked. I also didn't pay close enough attention to the return deadline. So I couldn't even get my money back, which is mainly my fault :/ Be sure to check your purchases and the return deadlines!! Guess everything is going online for a reason

So Funny! An Excellent Purchase!!
My old roomate and I go hooked on this show at the end of it's second season. It became our weekly ritual to watch it before going out on Fridays. We recently spent an afternoon watching the first disc of Season 1 of which neither of us had seen before. We spent the entire afternoon laughing. I highly recommend this!We are both now huge fans of Amanda Bynes and look forward to seeing her more in movies and tv.It's also great to see Jennie Garth in a new role after growing up with her as Kelly on 90210. This is a great role for her!I can't wait for more seasons to come out on Dvd!

Good Family Fun without being Nauseating.
Let's face it; the family dynamic is changing, and what a great win-win situation in this WB sitcom. We have no controversial stuff going on, and we have two sisters who are living together in Manhattan because their dad is living overseas. I have always liked Jenny Garth, and she is pitch perfect as uptight, perky, perfectionist sister Val to wiley, free-spirited teen sister, Amanda Bynes' Holly. This show blows me away because the issues are timely and sometimes weighty, but the comedic gift Amanda Bynes possesses for playing the trouble-bound teen always makes the show a treat. I also like Wesley Johnathan as Holly's friend, but didn't think the chemistry was quite there between Garth and her onscreen boyfriend Simon Rex. From fighting over a teddy bear to dating disasters and breakups, Holly and Val are always there for each other through everything. Comedy? It's definitely a family thing, and What I Like About You is amiable fun.

sound is terrible
I am a LITTLE hard of hearing nut if anyone speaks in a NORMAL voice, I HAVE NO TROUBLE HEARING THEM. Yet, when I watch these dvd's I can barely hear them at 5 FEET FROM SOUND BAR turned all the way up. Besides that, they are great.

DON'T BUY! Discs have a history of not working.
First off the show is clearly a good program. 5 stars...but NOT 5 stars for the DVD because it DOA. I ordered season 1 as a gift to my wife (we were fans of this show back in the day) but EVERY disc had a problem of not playing anything past the first 2-3 episodes of each disc. Most episodes simply would not play on any device we tried. From my detective work, the first season was the only retail version available and all other seasons were created on-demand through select vendors like Amazon. Based on the promo material inside referencing material inside my packaging, this was one of the first batch that didn't sell well since all of the "new" dvd box sets advertised were coming out in 2006. All that to say, it seems like the first season was really poorly produced since so many people in the reviews are having a similar issues with their discs not playing either. Also, if that wasn't enough of a forewarning...THEY CHANGED THE THEME SONG due to licensing fees. So the company producing these DVDs clearly were not fans of Amanda Bynes and all of her 90s-2000s glory, so they basically guaranteed that fans of this program would not get to enjoy the show for years to come.
