Great for active kittens-caution for those that startle easily, especially at night!
I have 3 cats, 2 are less than a year old and still growing. The older one, not a big fan of the toy but the 2 younger ones love it. They can jump and run, clad and bite. They have a lot of fun and it is really cute when they catch it in their mouth and try to walk off with it. I like the safety catch in the string for safe play. The cord did break, but this was due to the kitties teething and liking to chew on everything. They pulled hard enough to get the safety catch to pull apart and when it was on the ground they chewed through the cord. I was able to tie it back together, so it makes it a little higher for them to reach, but hey, more jumping practice and energy usage. The mechanism to hang onto the door frame works really well too. They can't pull it down but it is easy to install and remove. Plus, it doesn't leave scratches. And it makes me feel better that they have an interactive toy when I am at work. They will play with the toy at all hours too, and it it hits the wall or frame it can make a smacking or thumping sound. May have scared me in the middle of the night. Worth it though! I will be getting another one to hang in a different door for them.

Favorite Toy of Gary the Cat - Mouse Conoisseur
We bought our cat his first "mousie' door hanger almost 8 years ago. With the exception of milk jug rings, he's never been a huge fan of cat toys but this was an instant hit. He loves to sneak around corners, hide behind doors and stalk the mouse. The bouncy cord allows the toy to play back and keeps him entertained. It's pretty cute when the cats grab the mouse and try to walk away only to have it snap back to the door for another few minutes of play This version added a rattle which our cats particularly love, but they did reduce the size of the mouse from the original which is a bit of a drawback. Be warned, your cat will eventually chew through the thin cord BUT the actual mouse lasts far longer than the door hanger. Our cat has about 5 mice that he hides throughout the house, about 3 or 4 of them are these (5+ years old) that he hordes into little piles and snuggles with. So, even though the door hanger won't last, the mouse remains a good toy. Be careful of the string once the cat chews through it - strings can be harmful (and expensive) or deadly if swallowed. We have another cat that has been through several thousand dollars worth of surgeries due to ingesting foreign objects so we ALWAYS trim the strings before giving the cats the loose mouse. Also be aware the door hanger will scratch your paint above the door so put padding on it if you care about that. Overall an awesome toy, loved to death by our cats, and I will continue to buy these as the kitties need them.

Great Cat Toy For Travel Or Emergency Evacuation Pet Kit
This cat toy is cute, very affordable, super easy to pack, and takes up very little space. It's great if you'll be staying in pet friendly hotels, Airbnb's, or crashing at someone's house for a night. You could even set it up at your campsite and let your (tethered) mini house panther let off some steam. What It Is It has a thin plastic coated wire in a V shape with rubber feet on the end and a plastic clip with detachable mouse string. The mouse is dark plastic covered with fake fur and cloth-like material. It has ears and eyes and mimic real mice. How To Use It To use, you basically just pick a doorway or branch if you are camping, put the toy's wire on it like a stethescope, and squish the bottom of the V to adjust grip. My Thoughts This was sturdier than I initially thought but doesn't seem sturdy enough to leave out all the time - which is fine with us because it was intended for travel or random use. Ours lost its protective feet almost as soon as we got it, exposing a small bit of wire, but hasn't damaged the wall/door trim. It gets a little annoying to walk into it or accidentally get tangled on it (people, never catto) but it's not really a huge issue. Our catto chomped through the string so we tie the leftover part onto the doorknob or a sturdy stick. The mouse stayed in pretty good shape for quite a while considering how often it was bunny kicked with ferocity. We removed the covering and just left a bare mouse after a particularly punishing round with our catto overlord (picture attached to show insides of toy covering). I will reorder this.

Best cat toy Iโve purchased (and the least expensive)
This is my catโs favorite toy. Keeps her entertained without me having to turn anything on. She loves this toy better than any others. Iโve had this about 3 weeks and so far itโs holding up well even though she pulls on it. She plays with it several times a day and during the night and it hasnโt broken yet. The holder that attaches to the door frame has not come off even with all the tugging. Itโs on an elastic string and itโs so fun to watch her play. The mouse goes flying and she leaps and plays and when it flips behind the door where she canโt get it she comes to get me so I can remove it so she can play some more. Lol. Giving 4 stars for durability only because Iโve just had it a short time and donโt know how it will hold up the long term. But even if it only lasts 6 months itโs a great deal at!just over $3 and I would just buy another bone since she loves this so much.

Poor mouse
Great cat toy idea. However the mouse comes off very easily and falls apart after a while . It does stay up very well though

I've owned these for 15+ years and our cats LOVE THEM!
Out of the hundreds of toys we've purchased for our fur family, this is by far the favorite! I hesitate to even write this review because I don't want them to sell out. I actually purchased this toy for our cats numerous times 15 or so years ago, and when the "Wal store" stopped selling them we were devastated. My brilliant husband found them again for me as a surprise for my birthday, and it is pure entertainment watching our cats do gymnastics with them in our doorways! I even gifted one to our neighbor when I found out they rescued 2 cats and they were in complete awe of the new level of energy coming from their new kids. One thing to know about the elastic string the mouse hangs from: I have one little brat that ruins it for all by chewing the string, at which time I just knot it back together. It takes a considerable amount of effort from our biggest cat to ever get it off of the door frame, which is odd because it isn't on there tightly at all, and has never done any damage because it has little rubber covers on the parts that touch your walls. We do have tall ceilings, and some 8' door frames which are perfectly challenging for our adult cats. A typical door frame in a house with 8' ceilings is great for all sizes of cats and kittens. I hope your babies enjoy it as much as ours do!

Longest Lasting Cat Toy
Upon opening, the toy was mostly as pictured, just white instead of brown. When I put it on the door, it rested 2-3 feet above the ground. My cat was immediately excited and started playing with it. He stopped playing as much in a couple days, so I added some string to bring the mouse closer to the ground. He played with it for a while after that. He is a very social cat though so he stopped playing with it by himself. Instead, we played with it together bouncing the mouse on the string or dragging it through the house while I cleaned. It lasted probably a year and a half after my cat played with it so much that it got down almost to the plastic. Over time the rubber tips on the wire came off and I had to keep gluing them back on. After about a year and a half I cut the mouse off and bought a new toy. He still plays with the old mouse sometimes though. Overall, this toy kept my cat's interest longer than any other toy we've had.

A Cat Favorite!
My cat absolutely loves this toy. It has kept him occupied for long periods at a time. There are only three caveats, though. 1) Make sure you supervise your cat while s/he is playing with it. My cat has gotten wrapped up in the string a couple of times, once around the neck as he pulled on the elastic string and rolled around on the floor with the attached mouse. There is a "breakaway safety clip," but so far it has not worked. So, whenever we are going to be gone or when we go to bed at night, this toy gets put away. 2) Make sure you don't have anything of value or breakable near the door you hang this toy. My cat loves to pull the mouse as far as he can, lets it go, and then chases it. Because of the rebound and the velocity of the rebound, when it hits something, it could break. 3) When we got the toy, the string was not long enough for our cat to reach it. (We have very tall door frames.) I had to improvise with another piece of string I had to make it hang low enough for him to reach it. Otherwise, have fun watching the antics as your cat plays!

Good design
Great design! Features a detachable clip to keep the toy safely away to prevent any strangling incident!

cat approved!!!
Great cat toy - hang it from the door frame and the cat can play with it at any time. I sent it to my friend's cat for Christmas and when it broke in the middle of the night and I was visiting, he woke me up with the broken cat toy, indicating it needed fixing!

Much loved but also much chewed!
Mr Biggles LOVES this toy, as does his sister Zubikins! But a week of chewing and plucking left the poor mouse completely bald... In fact he is just a plastic, rattling, tooth marked shell now! This is not a complaint because let's be honest, I can't imagine how you'd create a completely cat proof toy of this sort if it's very loved and played with constantly... I'm taking the only option available...I'm ordering another one! And trying to think of something I could tie to the old one's elastic that would be as fun!

Toy well thought out.
Cat really likes this and is great exercise as she has to jump to reach it. Does get caught over the door from time to time as it bounces back. It has a clip similar to safety clip on collars only more flimsy which pulls apart if cat catches mouse and pulls hard. You can clip it back together so this is good design. After a number of weeks she gives it a go every so often so novelty seems to have worn off a little
