Excellent ferrule crimp kit
For those new to or not familiar with crimp on ferrules or their uses, in a nutshell they make termanating multi strand wires easy and efficient. When using a set screw or other type hold down biggest problem is the multi strand wire itself. Getting all the wires in the hold down and not damaging them is to say the least…fun, so is having them stay put. Not to mention corrosion down the road or movement etc. breaking the individual wires and causing issues. One trick was to tin the wires with solder, easy for a few connections, not very time efficient when lots of wires come into play, not to mention the propensity for the connections to come loose over time or corrosion issues. That’s where this system shines. Simply strip wire to suggested length, slip over bare end and use a crimper specially made for this purpose to crimp the ferrule to the wire end. Now you have a easy to insert and lock down wire termination system. Included with this kit is a selection of ferrules to handle most situations and the associated crimper. Crimper effortlessly locks the ferrule to the wire resulting in a perfect application time after time. If your looking into trying this system yourself you won’t regret giving this product a try, I highly recommend it. You will never look back I’m sure or go about it the old way.

Professional finish to your wirings
This is not only to look professional, but when you use this kind of terminals in your wirings, it will reduce the risk of overheating as the superficial contacts of the wire + terminal will be improved. Its way better than just using a lace on a naked wire to screw in the terminal. Also comes with a lot of terminals and a handy hardcase. Recommend it!

A Very Nice Kit
So for a little background, I'm an electrical engineer at an industrial facility. I work with contractors installing electrical devices and wiring just about every day. Whenever I have controls projects, I always specify that wires entering compression style terminals need to have a ferrule installed, and occasionally the contractor doesn't have the proper tooling. So I always have a few ferrule crimpers and ferrules in my office for my own use or to loan out. This particular kit is very well constructed. The ferrule crimper worked great on the #16, #14, and #12 wire.I did adjust the crimping tension to the highest level, and was very pleased with how the crimped ferrules turned out.I also tried out the small wire stripper that was included with the kit. It did successfully strip the wires pictured, but it is just nowhere near as efficient as standard wire stripping pliers. The only reservation I have is with the plastic that the case is made out of. I can't put my finger on it, but it feels like this type of plastic is brittle, so it's not something that can be tossed around in a toolbox. There is only one latching point for the lid, and though it does latch, I would have liked to see multiple latching points (I feel like this would minimize the likelihood of the lid inadvertently being opened. So I plan to keep this kit in my file cabinet at work, and will try to keep each compartment stocked with the various size ferrules. I'd recommend this kit to anyone seeking to add a professional appearance and longevity to their wiring jobs.

Take your wiring to the next level
I've seen these types of ends on manufactured goods, but never thought I would be able to add these to my own custom terminations. The best use for these is when using stranded wire with a screw terminal of any kind. I install speakers in residential and commercial settings where the amplifiers use phoenix blocks. I have gotten really good at twisting my strands to minimize strays that could short-circuit the amp. No more, I will be using these on everything.I have also used stranded wire for keypads. Terminating that wire is nerve-racking. I can't say how many hours I've spent chasing shorts in terminations. These may take extra time on the initial install, but the hours they will save in troubleshooting will be priceless! The reason that I couldn't give them 5 stars is because the colors don't coordinate sizes with standard butt connectors. The crimper is well built and easy to use. The wire-stripper is kind of cheap, but those that don't have anything else will appreciate it.The case is organized well and the clear top makes it easy to assess how many ends are still available. When terminating a wire, make sure to use the end that is just big enough for the wire. The first end I put on, I wasn't sure if I was using the right size. It didn't seem like it would fit, but with just a little persistence the wire did slide in. The casing flares inside the sleeve to assist in inserting the wire. There are ends that are big enough to splice wires into the same connector. Being able to splice the wire with a mechanical compression end right at the connection block saves extra connections that just create additional failure points. There is one downside, the calluses on my finger tips will be softened by not twisting wire. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
