This oyster sauce has a very thick texture, and it was a bit difficult to get it out of the glass bottle. I had to use a chopstick. I am not sure why some people receive an easy-to-use squeeze bottle, while I got a glass one, especially since the glass bottle is what is advertised. I do wish I had received the plastic squeeze bottle because it seems much easier to use, but it is not a big issue. Out of curiosity I tasted it on its own which I had never done before and it was not very pleasant, with a strong fishy flavor. But once I used it in a recipe, my opinion completely changed. I followed a fried rice recipe and mixed one tablespoon of oyster sauce with five tablespoons of soy sauce and the fishy taste disappeared. The result was amazing. I also added a bit of sesame oil at the end and the flavor turned out incredible. This sauce is one of those optional ingredients that makes a big difference. It gave my fried rice that authentic, restaurant-style flavor. I will definitely use it every time from now on.
